I don't want them trading any futures. I am cool with them trading depth

TDL Wishlist:
Extend Gavrikov, if he won't use the jedi mind trick to waive him NMC
Trade excess d-man
Nachos
Nachos are a no go. Kaliyev was running the Nacho cart.

I like Evans--a lot even. He's just redundant. So he's perfect for this dinosaur org.

Donato and Laughton are decent upside swings but again dumpster diving for more of the same.

Like who looks at our lineup and goes "they definitely need more 3rd and 4th liners"
King's likely can't afford a Necas type player. They wouldn't like the defensive mistakes from an offensive leaning player.

They can add grinding, depth player & have the assets to trade for it.

Also think 2nd, 3rd pair right D they may be looking at adding. Spence hasn't shown the ability to play up in a pinch & it looks like Hiller wants Clarke sheltered more than he is.

Trade Gav to a contender for a first. (Hope he would waive)

Trade Danault (would have to waive) and Moore

Go get Cozens from Buffalo with our new acquired capital

With the extra money, this off-season go after Boeser. Re-sign Jeannot as long as there is no raise involved

May need to use some money to upgrade left defense. Team would be younger, hunger, with more speed and talent. Just we need a coach that knows how to deploy these people.

Kempe - Byfield - Cozens
Fiala - Turcotte - Boeser
Foegele - Kopitar - Laf
Jeannot - Helenius - Thomas
Lee

Doughty - Anderson
Clarke - Moverare
Spence - Edmundson
Bouroughs

Kuemper
Portillo

Proposed trades:
Kings send Phil Danault, Trevor Moore, F Koehn Ziemmer, and a 2026 1st round pick (top 3 protected) to the New York Islanders in exchange for Matt Barzal

Kings send Akil Thomas and a 2026 2nd round pick to the Nashville Predators for Gustav Nyquist.

Cap space: $30k

Chances of winning the cup with this roster: 99%

Who says no? And who says hell yes?

Barzal blocked a shot on Saturday and is out indefinitely.

But if he weren't the Islanders would say no. If they are trading Barzal it's going to be for good younger pieces or picks, not for 2 guys who just clog up their already mid-level forward group with two more older mid guys.

- 32 year old C on the decline and owed $5.75m for another two years. They have a bunch of centers as it is.

- Moore is another contract commitment for a player about to be on the wrong side of 30. That would be $10m in cap space for two guys passed 30 with a combined 12 goals in 100 games.

- Overage forwards don't command much value at all. The Kings didn't put him in Ontario this season and sent him back to junior for his OA, very unlikely he has an NHL future

The 1st has some value for sure, but teams value 1sts down the road less than they value current ones.

The one with Nashville is closer, but Akil Thomas has zero trade value, he's not a young player, and has already cleared waivers in his career. He's a 25 year old AAAA player at this point. You have to remember, you have to make these deadline deals realizing that up to twenty teams in the league might be interested in a guy who had 75 points last season and is on an expiring contract with no long-term commitment. And again a pick 16 months from now isn't going to have the value one four months from now will.
