WC: 2025 Switzerland

He had a broken bone, it's either healed or not. You cannot rush (or you should not) someone with a broken bone. We'll see probably on Saturday or Sunday.

From all indications the bone was healed, Siegenthaler was just getting his conditioning/strength back but the Devils had no other choice but to play him due to the rash of injuries.

Devils basically played with 5D in games 3, 4, and 5 with two 2OT games. Intent was to keep his minutes low but that quickly went out the window in Game 3 when Kovacevic got hurt.

If he didn’t have any issues playing those three games and 30+ minutes, he’s probably good to go

If this continues Hischier will have broken Ambühl‘s record by the time he retires. If he’d come every year of course
Understandable from Hischiers perspective. According to Fischers code of conduct he would have to be banned from the Olympic Games though for lack of commitment. Just goes to show that not all players are equal after all.

Fischer is a clown anyways but you‘re right pretty hypocritical. And we‘ve had this topic enough but Bichsel could be pretty useful in february 2026….

I heard they talked with Bichsel when they were in NA with the goal to resolve this. But Bichsel wanted to concentrate on NHL and playoffs at that time, which is understandable.

But I'm pretty sure he'd like to play olympics nevertheless of all what happend. If they're not completley stupid they resolve this over the summer. From both sides. You can make mistakes and I'm sure Bichsel made some and the SIHF made some. So it's up to both sides, it's not about them, it's about hockey in Switzerland.

Malgin and Andrighetto not dressed tonight. It makes sense to give them some rest, but then we won't know who their linemate is until Saturday. Kukan, Glauser and Marti not dressed either, and Riat is the 13th forward.

The good news is that Loeffel is back.

According to Devils exit interview, it looks like Siegs doesn't seems sure at all that he will come to the WHC

Timo said that he wasn't sure at the moment but that he'll see, saying that playing for the country is an honour, so let's hope he wants to come

Solid game, yeah, doesn't make cuts easier. Berni/Karrer played very well again. I just don't see what Fora/Jung have to offer over them. Egli was mediocre, not particulary bad but that penalty was not a good idea. If Moser is coming over he's a very probable cut.

Moy played again very well and he deserves playing this WC. Schmid also looked like a valid option. Ritzmann again has something to offer and Baechler continued the play he had at the finals. Knak was not extremly visible but rock solid.

Riat's penalty was just plain stupid. Best news on this game probably: Genoni looked very sharp and I think together with Charlin they can build a pretty strong goaltending-duo.

Yeah, pretty well played against a loaded roster by EHT standards. Berni probably played his best national team game and should make it. Loeffel showed he's ahead of Egli, who would likely be cut to make space for Moser. I thought Fora played well too. Looking at ice time, the hierarchy looks to be Berni/Loeffel/Fora, Jung/Karrer, Egli, Wüthrich.

I thought Bertschy was the best forward, and his line the most visible. Moy and Ambühl worked well together, but the Senteler and Walser line didn't really click, although there were some good individual plays.

It's 3-5 cuts on D an 1-4 cuts on F.

Chanton and Wüthrich the obvious. I'd prefer Karrer over Jung because he's much smarter and has a higher hockey-iq. It's probably one of them.
No question about Berni, he stepped up. He should not get cut. Egli is depending on Moser, I agree on that. If Siegs can come it's probably Jung and Karrer. I cannot see Fischer cutting Fora or Loeffel.

On Forwards, Rohrbach is in danger, because he's not good enough for the first two lines but also not a 4th line player. The other ones in danger are probably the younger ones, Baechler and Ritzmann and also Walser. If Hischier says yes it would take away a C-spot which could be Walser. If Meier and Fiala both can come that would make it difficult. Hofmann wasn't overly convincing but his talent-level is still good enough to make a difference in certain games. Schmid could also be a victim of those reinforcments.

Knak should be set, he played very good, has everything it nees to play a good WC and is probably the best offensive asset we have for the coming years.

Rohrbach will probably be cut and i‘ll cut Walser as well i haven‘t seen him all game yesterday and i like Ritzmann and Baechler on the 4th Line. Ritzmann is a similar Player with more potential. I don‘t know if Ambühl should be on the team but he‘s such a legend i can see if they keep him simply because of that. I like Karrer more than Jung, but the guy plays his heart out you gotta give him that but karrer does aswell. I won‘t comment on Fora since he will play anyway🤷🏼. Moy should be on the team and Schmid wasn‘t that visible but i‘d keep him atm if no NHL forwards join.

Chanton and Wüthrich are cut before the weekend. And Loeffels injury doesn't allow WC it seems.

So we're down to 8 d-men with two possible additions from NA, which leaves probably Egli, Karrer and Jung as potential cuts while the other 5 should be set.

Fiala is out and given his history of dedication for World Championship and Switzerland (even coming after getting father and being RFA) I have no doubt that if he's not injured he'll come and play next Friday vs. the CZE.
