2025 Summer Transfer Rumors and Discussion Closed Window

They've got tons of cash from being frugal last summer and the past few winter windows. They should bring in over 100m just from sales of Kelleher/Elliott/Quansah/Tsimikas, not to mention potentially Diaz bringing in another 60-80m. 40-50 for Nunez?

I still think they go for a 9 as well.

Every deal is risky. If Wirtz goes to the PL, I’d be shocked if a better player than Wirtz goes to PL this summer
I would be too but until Wirtz proves he can do it weekly outside the bundesliga id be at least a little worried about the price.

Kidding aside, Wirtz is exactly the kind creative outlet Liverpool need to unlock defenses when Salah gets shut down or has an off night. But for the love of God, I hope the rumors of them bringing in Sesko to replace Nunez are not true. Dude ain't a bad player, but his performances this season have shown he is just not that clinical and its essentially replacing a bad component with another one

Salah has greater than 2x the number of big chances missed compared to Sesko.

100mil for 31 year old midfielder would be stupid to turn down imo.
The real issue would be finding some one/ones that match his goal/assist output.
So this is really interesting.

Let’s say you get 100 for Bruno. Do you trust Amorim to spend the dough? He is going to be doubling down on 343. Not having UCL matters less for United but they aren’t exactly going to be recruiting from a position of strength.

The price and all that is one of those rich people things. 'I am tired of other rich people telling me no' and when someone says yes their pride kicks in and they feel like they have to do it.

I think the price does matter but if they sign him obviously they don't care. Salah will only be around two more years, we need a focal point to replace him.

LFC/FSG always talk about being opportunistic. That doesn't just mean playing moneyball.

I mean how many #10's in Europe; right now and regardless of price, are outright better than Wirtz?

LFC could go into next season, on paper, with the best GK - Alisson, CB - Virgil , CM - Alexis , AM- Wirtz & FW - Salah in the league. Heck, they might be getting Kerkez and he was no worse than the 2nd or 3rd best LB in the league. LFC is (finally) loading up from a position of strength. It would be massive to get these over the finish line

It's been said/brought up probably before but after his first season at Sporting, he cleared out a lot of players that didn't fit his system and got ones who did and things started clicking. He'll also have time to train the (new) players in pre-season and during the season with more time now. The real question is how many players would he need to accomplish at United what he did at Sporting?

I think the question, especially after ETH, you basically need to triple down on Amorim, who just gave you a historically bad season and would be selling arguably his best player a ton of dough. I would have brought Amorim back if they kept Bruno, but if you are selling him - that is a really big ask. I am not sure I would do it.
