Again not something I would argue against. Wirtz has done it for two years at very high level. With the NT too.In reality your are banging on more promise and less certainty if you go with Cherki. While Wirtz is more of a certainty. However, is that worth the 100M not for me not at all.
Oh I’m agreeing with you lol just adding to your postAgain not something I would argue against. Wirtz has done it for two years at very high level. With the NT too.
Cherki has done it close to one season and anyone can have doubts he can redo it. I don't but I don't blame anyone that does.
However that doubt shouldn't cost 100M more.
Do you think there's a 100mil difference between them?Do you really think that Wirtz and Cherki are two equal players?
I think the price could be decent and Amorim's seen first hand what he can do. But as with everyone else not named Cunha and Liam Delap, other factors will depend on who United can afford to go for.Cherki would be an unreal fit at one of the 10 positions in Amorims system. But I feel like Cherki will have offers from like 20 teams in a better situation than United.
Could afford? They’re spending 60m on cunha lolI think the price could be decent and Amorim's seen first hand what he can do. But as with everyone else not named Cunha and Liam Delap, other factors will depend on who United can afford to go for.
PSR wise. Cunha and Delap are known to be able to fit in that.Could afford? They’re spending 60m on cunha lol
Yea I'd love to get him (especially at the rumored prices) but I can't fathom him looking at his options and picking United.Cherki would be an unreal fit at one of the 10 positions in Amorims system. But I feel like Cherki will have offers from like 20 teams in a better situation than United.
He now has time to be a full time fachaHappy retirement Pepe Reina!
1999-2025!
Do you think there's a 100mil difference between them?
I'm basing that off of the rumored asking price of Bayer which is like ~126 iirc. I'd take Wirtz over Cherki in a vaccum. But I'd prefer Cherki and ~70mil.If we take the Transfrmarkt figures as a basis I would say that Wirtz's is not credible and thinkable (the price is always set by the seller). There can never be 100M of difference. A difference that, however, for me is there and is tangible, for fun and games I can hypothesize in the order of 40M more or less if they were to be sold today on the same day.
I have already written about Cherki and whatever one wants to read and whether one likes it or not, the technical qualities of the player are not discussed, especially the ballistic ones which are the part of his offensive arsenal that I prefer.
60M is better spent elsewhere which has nothing to do with PSR.PSR wise. Cunha and Delap are known to be able to fit in that.
LFC absolutely need their 10 to backcheck. Whoever plays 10 for LFC needs to do Salah’s running. Szoboszlai led LFC in counterpressures. I think I read Szoboszlai led the PL in counterpressures; but may be off on thatWirtz is like Kroos or Wilshere (an engine on the pitch), but with superb offensive talent.
Cherki's work rate off the ball is meh at best, but when he has it, he's like this generation's version of Robben (or a #10 version of Robben if LFC buys him). I do think he's a bit of a headcase, though, definitely more of an individual player than Florian and less productive when he isn't running at defenders.
Wirtz is definitely the better and more proven player, but there is a good argument that saving more than 50+ million pounds for Cherki is the better option. It's not like LFC needs their #9 or #10 to backcheque anyway. It's a bonus, but not a huge game changer in tactics if his work rate is poorer. Nonetheless, I can't see LFC ever spending 100+ million on a player with their current ownership, so maybe this is a mute discussion.
There was a near mutiny among West Ham supporters when they sold him (pretty sure it was £18M). Mark Noble even publicly lambasted the club for selling him. Looks like the smartest money they ever made now.Grady Diangana is being let go on a free by West Brom. I thought this kid was going to be a star (and so did WBA when they dropped 13+ mil for him) but he turned up being a below average Championship player.
Yeah I remember. He did look amazing the one time I saw him in a West Ham shirt. There was a near mutiny among West Ham supporters when they sold him (pretty sure it was £18M). Mark Noble even publicly lambasted the club for selling him. Looks like the smartest money they ever made now.
I don’t hate Delap for the cost. He’s not going to be the long term 9 but getting some guys who are competent at the position would go some ways right now.60M is better spent elsewhere which has nothing to do with PSR.
