2025 Summer Transfer Rumors and Discussion Closed Window

If Betis win the Conference League, it'll be interesting if they'll pull the trigger and buy Antony this summer already. Supposedly Atletico Madrid are also interested in him.

Betis buying Antony would depend on the fee. Can’t see it. Maybe another loan if United can’t find a buyer. I could see Antony to Saudi Arabia before Betis buy him.

I could potentially see something like a 1 year loan plus 20m obligation in summer 2026 since it would let United wipe the transfer clean off the books.

Yeah, I could see Betis paying that much. I was just under the impression that United are looking to recoup much more than that.

United would need 38m this summer to break even on PSR, but if they delay the permanent transfer to next year that drops to 19m.

I think at this point they're just going to be happy if they don't have to lose PSR money on him as opposed to really trying to recoup a decent fee.

Well not everything I’ve heard was from the club’s perspective. I’m taking from supporters, media (today’s Overlap for example), etc. Me personally, I would think United try and get something for him this window to take advantage of his form since the loan.

I think fans want a higher fee, but I think most internally realize that a nice run of form over 6 months on loan isn't gonna make up for being a tire fire for 2.5 years before that.

If United want a real transfer fee for him, they'll have to loan him out again next year and hope he replicates the form.

If Amorim goes shopping in Portugal maybe you can leverage him the other way to lower a fee?

Liverpool apparently interested in Jeremie Frimpong for RB. Release clause of 30 million, thing is I’m not sure he’d start. But for the price hard to pass up someone that good in attack even though he can’t defend.

I think it makes sense to bring in RB not only to make up the numbers, but also to provide some competition.
Yeah it’s very FSG to bring him in at that price. Like if release clause is 30, they could sell him the day after they sign him and make a profit on that.

I don’t think there is any way that he is a right back though. At that price he doesn’t necessarily have to be a starter; and could see him as like a right sided utility guy. I’ve heard he can be a specialist against the bottom teams at worse, but the bottom teams are so big I’m not even sure that’s a good idea. At that price though it’s worth taking a shot I guess

One of the few Brighton busts, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, is let go by Heerenveen where he sucked this year and is now linked to Persepolis in his native Iran

I like him better than Frenkie too but man your hate for him is funny
I have a love/hate relationship with Frenkie (who's only much worse defensively than Zubi, while being better offensively, in case that wasn't clear from my previous message). I think he's a great midfielder, just not Barcelona starter level, as he's a clear number 8 and we have Pedri for that. He's too slow and soft to be a number 6 and not good enough offensively to be a number 10. I'd be happy with a player like him on the bench, but not starting and definetely not on that salary, and not as captain ffs.
