2025 Summer Transfer Rumors and Discussion Closed Window

has he played RM? My impression is he’s at his best when he has the ball acting as a DPM.

Madrid still need a 9 and 3/ 4 defenders. Maybe another midfielder too.

And a keeper since Courtois is just a bitch.
He has not played RM or RWB, and my take has generally been (in the absence of a track record to draw on) that the “Trent should play at wingback” - which has come up before in the context of England - is based on an oversimple “he is good at offense and bad at defense, ergo, wingback!”

Trent’s style of offensive generation, IMO, is not a RWB profile! He doesn’t go on driving runs, his excellent crossing doesn’t come from high-and-wide positions. His best crossing is from deeper areas, and his other prime asset is the diagonals which also come from lower positions. He’s not a ‘bomb up the touchline and whip it in’ type, which is generally the profile you want in a wingback.

His offensive profile is perfect for an attacking RB, not a RWB. Unfortunately he sucks shit defensively.

Prepared to eat crow if someone makes him a RWB and it works.

All from Ornstein concerning Arsenal...

- Partey and Arsenal are looking at a two-year contract (either two full years or one year, option for another).

- Gyokeres and Sesko are Arsenal's prime targets for striker. Isak and Osimhen are fake rumours.

- Zubimendi is coming in to replace Jorginho, who will leave at the end of the season (He was pretty adamant that this is a done deal from Arsenal's side).

- Arsenal will need to fix the backup goalkeeper position.

- Arsenal still wants Nico Williams, but they will sell a winger first before they bring him in.

- It is confirmed that Arsenal do WANT Dean Huijsen. Really weird rumour, but Ornstein is as good as it gets, so I believe him.

Doesn’t move the needle for me. I’d be worried when they actually something resembling a functioning defence and a forward line.
TAA is damn amazing and will absolutely make RM clearly more dangerous going forward. His passing ability, vision, and playmaking already make the forward line that much better. Plus, his free-kick ability is an added bonus.

Man United from Ornstein

- Cunha and Delap are United's top targets. A lot of rumours of them wanting Sesko or Gyokeres, but they ain't beating Arsenal to them.

- This is new info, but supposedly ManU do not need European football or conduct sales to get the Cunha and Delap deals done.

- Cunha wants to come to play as a 10, but on personal terms, still far from agreement. Other clubs will be in for Cunha, so they have Semenyo or Dibbling as a backup option.

- Delap has a 30 million pound release clause if Ipswich is relegated. Chelsea is also heavily after him, especially at that price.

- United is NOT going after Osimhen.

- Other positions ManU want to fill will require sales from other players to get it done. Rashford is the biggest one, and it seems a lot of it rests on whether Aston Villa can make the CL. If not, there is a better chance he goes to Barcelona.

- ManU would rather keep Onana than sell him lol.

It does make sense in the context that Real Madrid are rumoured to make a push for Saliba.

It is not new info, been mentioned already in this thread. Most recently here: 2025 Summer Transfer Rumors and Discussion Closed Window

But why would Saliba go to RM at this point in time? I am not saying he won't ever move to Madrid, but I feel it's when they get back to their glory, not this team, which failed in CL, won't win Liga, and is losing their prime manager. He just witnessed himself knocking them out of the CL? I'm thinking it is for Kiwior, a ton of rumours of him leaving the last three windows back to Serie A.

I would agree wingbacks have tremendous work rate he's simply no where near that.

All I have to say about this subject is that he could have been Stevie G. And he didn’t want to. Instead Salah will be.

When TAA comes back to play at Anfield he should expect to be booed. Suarez was booed more in good fun but this will be like Michael Owen and it won’t be good. Carragher was also right for once when he said that you can’t tell Liverpool fans how they should feel about this. Lots of people telling us to be grateful but we have a whole squad of players to be grateful for I’m not going to waste my time on this one.

Seems harsh for a guy that put in 350+ apps, won 2 PL titles and a CL and isn't really leaving acrimoniously--and for one of the two clubs that will draw just about any player on the planet regardless of where they're at. Fans are going to fan how they feel is best though.

f***ing RM and their free transfers though.

Saliba would move to Madrid because it is Madrid.

But yeah, I do not see it happening this year either.

Sounds like Madrid want Liverpool to release Alexander Arnold early for the Club World Cup. If I’m Liverpool I’m doing, for the right price.

Marseille Congolese center back Chancel Mbemba (ex Porto, Newcastle, Anderlecht) will leave the club on a free.

Robin Gosens loan from Union to Fiorentina is made permanent for 7 mil.

Lille's Remy Cabella also leaves the club on a free.

Nehuen Perez's loan from Udinese to Porto is made permanent for 13+ mil

Sem Steijn who scored 24 goals in the Netherlands from the number 10 position goes from Twente to Feyenoord for 10 mil

Benrahma's loan from Lyon to Saudi becomes permanent for 12 mil

Lazar Samardzic's loan from Udinese to Atalanta becomes permanent for 14+ mil

Marcus Edwards' loan from Sporting to Burnley becomes permanent for 10 mil

Free agent Jonathan Tah strongly linked to Bayern

Rasmus Kristensen's loan from Leeds to Frankfurt made permanent for 6 mil

Nice/PSV's long time goalkeeper Walter Benitez will be available on a free after seeing out his contract with the Dutch. Rick Karsdorp is also leaving them on a free, as is a personal favourite of mine, Olivier Boscagli.

Leipzig pay Leuven a cool 16 mil for their 20 yo Dutch midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi

De Bruyne linked to half of MLS.

Werder's Milos Veljkovic goes back to Serbia, signing with Red Star on a free.

Yan Couto's loan from City to Dortmund made permanent for 25 mil.

Kieran Tierney on a free to Celtic.

Lloyd Kelly's loan from Newcastle to Juve made permanent for 17+ mil. ROFL is all I can say to that trade.

Of course they should ask for compensation and from all reports, we are ready to give them a small fee and cover his wages.

Well the wages are irrelevant to Liverpool as he'd be released, so unless he's playing for free you'd absolutely be covering his wages. As for the fee, yes, a small fee. Liverpool should be getting more though and if they're smart they'll negotiate it upward.

Kevin Danso's loan from Lens to Tottenham made permanent for 25 mil.

Liliam Brassier's loan from Brest to Rennes made permanent for 12 mil.

Chrislain Matsima's loan from Monaco to Augsburg made permanent for 5 min. The young Frenchman has been a revelation in the Buli.

Trezeguet (no, not that one) goes back to Egypt, signing for Al-Ahly from Trabzon for almost 2 mil

Tom Bischof to Bayern from Hoffenheim on a free to provide some competition in midfield. Why is he leaving on a free though at 19 though? @cgf

Zenit's main man Wendel goes back to Brazil, signing for Botafogo for 20 mil.

Arthur Veermeeren's loan from Atletico to Leipzig made permanent for 20 mil.

Amoura's loan from Union SG to Wolfsburg made permanent for 15 mil. Quite a bargain.

Rui Silvas loan from Betis to Sporting made permanent for almost 5 mil.

Fran Navarro's loan from Braga to Porto made permanent for almost 3 mil.

Saudi get Brazilian highly rated 17 yo Gabriel Carvalho from Internacional for almost 16 mil.

Ludovic Ajarque's loan from Mainz to Brest made permanent for 2 mil

Joao Mario's loan from Benfica to Besiktas made permanent for 2 mil

Sofyan Amrabat's loan from Fiorentina to Fenerbahce made permanent for 12 mil

Felix Udoukhai's loan from Augsburg to Besiktas made permanent for 5 mil

Nico Gonzalez's loan from Fiorentina to Juventus made permanent for over 28 mil. Another WTF move from Juve, as he's been bad for them, just 4 goals and 4 assists in more than 2000 minutes this year in all competitions

A clear loan made permanent for Juve is that of Michele di Gregorio, the best Italian goalkeeper in my book. 14 mil+ from Monza.

West Ham's Coufal to leave on a free at the end of the season. I used to like him but his play fell off a cliff this season and at 32 I don't think he's still useful for a big 5 league.

If Betis win the Conference League, it'll be interesting if they'll pull the trigger and buy Antony this summer already. Supposedly Atletico Madrid are also interested in him.
