Hate them all you want, but Florida are an incredible playoff team. They have an amazing ability to seize the big moments and score goals when they most need them.

Two other reasons to give them temporary support for the moment - obviously the 1st round pick attached to Marchand, and I think they are best placed to stop the Leafs. Because if they don't, I can easily see Toronto making the Finals. I'll take the Panthers all day over that.
Bingo !! I get the hatred for Florida but come on guys , do you want to see the Leafs go on a deep playoff run ? Go Florida !! Go Marchand !!

Not until the second round!
Some of the language on some sites is confusing, but essentially the conditions for the 2026 2nd-round pick becoming a 2027 or 28 1st-round first rounder are that Florida wins TWO rounds this year, and Marchy plays 50% of the playoff games.

Clearly stated on Puckpedia: "Becomes '27 or '28 1st if FLA wins 2 rounds & Marchand plays 50% of playoff games."

I believe it's a second in 27 that becomes a first in 28 if they play 2 rounds and Marshand plays 50% of the games. Not sure if they have to win that second round?

Where are you seeing a 2026 2nd rounder?

Brad Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers by the Boston Bruins on Friday.

Boston received a conditional second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft in return.

The 36-year-old forward is in the final season of an eight-year, $49 million contract ($6.125 million average annual value) he signed with the Bruins on Sept. 26, 2016, and can become an unrestricted free agent after the season. Boston will retain 50 percent of Marchand's salary.

The conditional second-round draft pick will become a 2027 or 2028 first-round draft pick if Florida wins two rounds of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs and Marchand appears in at least 50 percent of the team's playoff games.

Do you know if that means he has to pay 50% of all of their playoff games or just 50% of the first two rounds?

It says on Puckpedia "wins 2 rounds." But I agree that I have read places where it is confusing.

I still hope he comes back to Boston.

I am watching the playoffs but not as much as I would be if the Bs were in it.

I love Brad but don't love the Panthers. I hope they win enough to get that stupid pick and then are gone.

I am just waiting for next season's schedule (early July?) to come out and to see what team the Bs will ice next Fall. I do believe it will be a better team than this past season. Hopefully Sway lives up to his contract price.

I really don't understand the Florida hate at all. You mean to tell me that this Bruins team couldn't use a Bennett, Lundell or Tkachuk, et al? I'm confident that those guys would be loved here.

Does the "hate" stem from the fact The Cats did something that we failed to do, like win both of the series against us?
It’s because one year after beating us in the playoffs they threw rats at us 🐀 lol

And then they stole our rat from us #63
