Some will defend it, but I thought that Tkachuk hit on Guentzel was not a good hit. I like good, tough legal hits; it's part of hockey. A legal body check is a hockey play to break down the opposing team's offensive attempts.

But that hit was not a hockey play. Aside from being late, it was predatory, mean-spirited, and completely unnecessary, especially at that point in the game. The game was lost and TB was about to score on the empty net. Tkachuk targeted Guentzel in a way that's completely outside the spirit of the game. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think hits like that should have no place in the game.

Nothing wrong with the hit in style at all was just late. I could see the penalty though and deserved, no suspension is fine with me.
