NHL 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Nobody's toast in these playoffs yet. Bruins fans should know that more than anyone.

Generally speaking I would agree, early days still.

But then I would also say a few pretty firm predictions can already be made - the Oilers have no chance without Ekholm and the Kings will finally get their revenge, the undermanned Devils are cooked, and the Habs, plucky as they are, can't beat Washington. The rest to me are still very much up for grabs.

You very well may be right, but I've been watching this game too long to make such sweeping predictions after 2 games in the first round of the playoffs. Especially when it concerns the Habs. They are Satan's Children and supernatural forces are always at play whenever they are in the playoffs.

I do admire your confidence though...:)

You're right of course. The NHL has the most unpredictable playoffs in sport. And we just saw what the Oilers, for example, are still capable of offensively, if there was any doubt. Of course they then went and blew it again straight away, but the point stands.

So yeah, watch me now get at least one of those calls wrong. But those are the 3 that I think are the most likely to land one way. Can't see the Wild beating Vegas either, actually. The other 4 I think are more open.

I enjoyed watching Hutson last night. Yes, he's talented but I didn't think he held up particularly well with the playoff intensity and physicality.

I think at the end of the Caps series he's gonna look a little more pedestrian.

Whatever those supernatural forces are, they almost always seem to make the other team take controversial penalties late in crucial games.

Defensmen like Hutson (5:09-165) are rarely or never dominant in their own end. Always going to be the risk of him getting run over. In a couple more years he should fill out to maybe 175.

Not a team in the NHL wouldn't want him based strictly on his ability and hockey IQ.
He is just another version of Quinn Hughes to me.

Well, they’ve won a single round and lost 6 (7 if you count the play-in round loss to Columbus) since they’ve been making these claims, so naturally:

Absolutely. He's a big talent and everyone would want him. However, I'm looking forward to him getting tenderized and seeing how he holds up.

watched next to nothing of the Habs/Caps game, Jets/Blues a good one but man were things turned up a notch for that Avs/Stars game, I can watch Wyatt Johnston play 8 days a week, kid a blast to watch

It's a crime one of these two teams will move onto the second round and one of Tampa or Florida will be going home after round 1.

What a snoozer of a period. Wish this was the 11 PM game 😂
