2025 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS

No next up should be what I was talking about or don't quote me? Ghost was a bigger loss than Walman was what I was saying...
Ghost was PP1 guy and then getting third pairing ice time. Which is what he is on Carolina, Walman is playing third pair but I think he is a little better defensively at the moment. I'd rather have Walman of the two.

But honestly I don't really miss either, the problem is Yzerman failed to upgrade. Both those guys are super loosey goosey defensively most of the time.

The biggest issue is this playoff format. We’ve seen Carolina vs Florida 3 straight years. And Dallas 3 straight years against Vegas and 2x Edmonton.

Congrats to Florida, but we gotta change this up.
Idk, I don’t think that’s on the format, but more because teams like toronto, kings, hurricanes etc keep choking and losing in the playoffs all the time. I don’t think you can blame the NHL for those teams inability to ever get over the hump.

Hard to bet against the Oil for me. How many Stanley cups has Corey Perry been to, something like 1-3 or 1-4?

Idk who the new reporter girl is but she's way better than Emily Kaplan.

Kaplan isn't that good to me and I'm unsure of how she got the job. She's so incredibly awkward to me. She must know people that work within organizations or something.

Kaplan does a pretty good job with her articles for ESPN but I agree she's pretty awful at times with the on ice reporting/interviews.

I mean writing articles is one thing but... she's not good at like, what they make her do.

After googling her really fast I figured out why she's got a job. I thought she had league wide connections or something but, it's a political/social statement or hire. I'll leave it at that, right or wrong.

They hired a woman!!! run for the hills! it's clearly political because every other hire in the NHL is obviously the best qualified candidate! NO FAIR!!!

I think her articles actually helped give ESPN a legit voice in hockey. Something they've been missing since... mostly their entire existence. If you read her articles she clearly knows her shit.

In terms of her being a "political" hire: I'll acknowledge there is a disconnect between her articles and TV presentation. I would put her hockey takes well above what John Buccigross has to say. Buccigross also has no connection to the hockey world outside of being a sports journalist. Have you bitched about him being a political hire?

What's going on with Bucci, how'd he get drug in! He's host/anchor not a reporter and he's pretty good at that. He's also a play-by-play guy I think for college. It's like way different jobs.

Now if they hire David Pagnotta...

Well, if you care to go back and read your own statement that you figured Kaplan had league wide connections to get her job, yet there's no evidence of the same for Buccigross....you figure it out.

It's not, "like", way different jobs; it's two people having prominent roles at a major network that don't have your so-called league connections, yet you only have an issue with Kaplan, who has waaay better takes than....you call him Bucci! Lol! Buccigross is a joke calling the Frozen Four, btw. He was nothing short of a clown show at the draft as well.

You may proceed with your "Lol, whatever over-sensitive guy" take.

Rematch, hopefully it goes Edmonton's way this time. Also, suck it Jamie Benn, I haven't forgotten the dirty hit on Larkin.
Go Panthers. I will forever hate the Edmonton Oilers being handed top pick after top pick, not to mention the scumbag they currently have at GM.

I hope they put McDavid through the boards and take it in 4 games.
