There's no doubting Marner's skill. Everyone fawns over Matthews for being "Da GrEaTeSt GoAl ScOrEr" while ignoring the guy who was setting him up a good majority of the time. Underrated goal scorer too. If he wasn't petrified of shooting the puck he would be good for 35-40 a season especially with all he space he creates.

But i under no circumstances can cosign bringing the guy in when we've watched what he's done in every postseason he's ever played in.

I have no reason to assume that would change with just a change of scenery. Didn't work for Thornton's postseason woes, won't work now.

Never know….

I mean it did work for lots of guys..

Pronger, Richards, Gaborik, Kessel, Horton, Hasek, among others.

I guess we won’t know until it happens, but I think he’s worth the risk….even though it’s about 5% likely.

Lot of those guys were never the problem with their team though. Hasek especially after spending years dragging sadsack Sabres rosters to the playoffs. Pronger never really played on a really good team outside of 2000 until he got to Edmonton and even then he was the leading man there and in Anaheim.

The rest of those guys were big fish in small pond; good players to be sure, but maybe not cut out for a leading role.

Marner coming here means he's still a guy that's being relied on big time. Doesn't fix anything and he would need to go to a team like a Dallas or Colorado where he's riding shotgun.

I'd offer 10 million for Brad to f*** off to Cancun at this point if i'm the Leafs.

Or at the very least get him out of their division.
Best way to neutralize a leaf killer is to sign him! I don't think they will but I'm their GM might as well try to get him.

So glad we’re done with that guy.
Yeah its getting more apparent that you need defensive guys that can skate, retrieve and transition the puck quickly while being patient and poised while someone is forechecking you in today's NHL. You cant panic or flub the puck, and I think the speed of the game is now getting too fast for him. He is becoming a specialty third paring PK guy.

Listening to some Toronto sports yak radio while I wait for Steve Dangle’s video to drop. Those lovable laughable Leafs have delivered once again.

I know the reasons why the Bruins shit the bed year after year, but for the life of me, I have no idea why the Maple Leafs can’t get out of their own way.

They need to arrange for an exorcism in the Leafs locker room before next season starts. I’m starting to feel bad for them.

I’m certainly not going to dispute that take, as it’s valid.

I just think guys can change, and this team needs scoring, badly.

Only time will tell.

I do like the idea of giving Knies an offer sheet, even if it only serves to drive his price up.

Obviously, if they let Marner and JT walk, they’ll have plenty of money to match…..may as well try to make Toronto pay more for him.

Marner disappears in the in the playoffs. Tremendous talent, but softer than Charmin when it counts. Couple that with what is likely a very high price - no thanks.

They tremendously overpaid four guys, and the rest of the team pays for it. No heart.
