I was on the sign Marner train before the playoffs, but he has 1 shot on net in 3 games so far. For $12M+ or whatever he's going to get, that's horrendous for a guy that's supposed to be paid like the best player on your team. I thought the Leafs may have been turning the tide from being chokers, but it's the usual suspects again choking. Bruins should stay away.
I agree-hope the Bruins don’t spend a ridiculous amount of money on a free agent like Marner. Find other ways to fill out the roster.

Hardest thing for the Leafs is admitting they don't have a winning mix among their core. You can move the pieces surrounding them all you want. Still have a couple games to prove everyone wrong, but things are looking pretty grim.... Florida is the opposite. They have their foot on the throat. And they typically don't hesitate.

Don’t see any thoughts on Edmonton’s overtime goal. To me, it was on the “rammy” side, needed what seemed like at least four pokes to ram it home. Not a very clean series-clinching goal. Would have liked something prettier. There’s a flip side to that view, I guess...

Cassidy did not challenge it so......................

The Leafs aren't as soft as years past, but Florida plays the long game (like the 2011 Bruins). Even early in the series, Florida finished every check, knowing as the series grinded on, it would break their will.

Lose the first two on the road? Florida said, "No problem," again like the 2011 Bruins.

Multiple Florida goals originated when Leaf defenders couldn't muster the gumption to go into the corners and battle for pucks. Even OEL, who played for Florida. Reminded me of Vancouver going "No mas" late in the 2011 Final.

Toronto could've taken Florida in a short series, and they were one goal away from going up 3-0. Marchand's OT goal turned the series around.

I welcomed the opportunity to pull for Matthews during 4 Nations, but he did his disappearing act. Neither series is over, but if Winnipeg and Toronto fall, Matthews status as Team USA captain may be in question, as will Hellebucyk as the starter.

Every year the Leafs lose embarrassingly and we're all like this summer they blow up the core, and they never do. They always find a way to sign their big name players to huge extensions and run it back. They'll give Marner $12 million this summer and keep the core. Nothing ever happens.
