I must be taking crazy pills then. Cause I absolutely thought I heard someone somewhere mention it. Like radio or a sports podcast or something.

Me too, he was generating chances in the warm up matches. Probably old Slovak mentality of needing “grinders” for the bottom 6. Even though straka is capable defensively
Actually, I dont think he played well but still better option than Kukumberg.

It’s so tough to split up Pekarcik and Dvorsky but I’d like a player with a little more size on the second line with Pobezal. I’d maybe go Jencko-Dvorsky-Cedzo as the first line and Pekarcik-Pobezal-Cisar as the second line. I am sure lines will get juggled as the tournament goes on.

Solid roster, no controversies imo. Happy for Tomik. Again, a lot of RHDs, one more solid LHD would be fantastic but we dont have one.

A solid pain in the ass IMO. I expect an up and down performance and for the quarter final to be damn good.

See you on the 29th... you guys have had our number so I'm expecting a close game and a likely loss.

Really? Look to some Slovak hockey forums debate. You can find a lot of them. For example:

- Why is Tomik there? Didnt played any single game
- Satan... You guess what is going on...
- Massive Straka hype from his agent didnt worked well
- never ending Molnar story
I dont care about Slovak hockey forums. Most of them are 2 weeks hockey fans.
I like Tomik, Feneš knows him from Trencin. Maybe the best tools from players born in 07.
There is no problem with Satan. Looked very good vs Germany in both games. After Dvorsky and Pobezal, we dont really have centres. Hes really good for bottom 6 and PK.
Straka - yes, im surprised by his omission. Way better option than Kukumberg.
Molnar was injured and hes currently out of shape + hes a criminal but idk if you care about this.

What are your predictions for the team? I heard a couple podcasts calling them a dark horse to surprise and they mostly talked about Dvorsky. Yes he’s great and may be one of the best talents in tournament but the rest of the team is pretty meh to me. Some good young players but I just don’t see them hanging in with the better teams. The depth just isn’t there.
Although I hope to be wrong! I can certainly see them showing up against the Czechs as always.

Pekarcik is going to have a great tournament. Love that dude. He’s a workhouse and playmaker.

I'll be in Ottawa on the 26th for Canada vs Finland. I may check out the Swiss-Slovakia game on Friday at 1pm. As a Sudbury Wolves fan, I'll be excited to see Jan Chovan, Jakub Chromiak and Dalibor Dvorsky.

Also, the re-emergence of Miroslav Satan lol

The depth is pretty concerning, at least compared to last year and the year prior. Top line will be pretty strong like last year. Better skaters on the back end should help, but how much is a big question mark. Goaltending is also a question mark unlike last year where Gajan was the clear #1.

Personally, I’m more interested in seeing how Pobezal, Chovan and Radivojevic play. Our coach also generally has 2 or 3 head scratching moves up his sleeve, which will be funny to see.

Šatan being there just becouse he is drafted, he is clumsy, slow and way too passive at times. -They should replace him for Pitka.
Klečka - absolutely useless player, doesnt bring anything to the game, i cant belive he plays powerplay. They should replace him for tomík.
I hope that they play tomík more against switzerland, in the few shifts he had he looked very good.
Pobežal was invisible whole game while being on the PP1 and second line.
Expecting Lendak to start against the Swiss.
