He was bad in April last year too.

He's had a bunch of hard hit outs over the past week or so. It'll happen for him soon I'd wager.

If he's still struggling by the end of May with warmer weather? Time to have a conversation.

At the end of the day....he's had 70 PA's, can't really panic too hard yet.
Ppl forget how bad Casas was when he first came up, he was rocking like a .130 average thru the end of May (he then proceeded to be a ~top 2 hitter in baseball the rest of the way)

He’s historically been a slow starter at every level. Starting to see some positive signs. I thought Cora benching him for Romy the other day was very stupid as like you said he was starting to make loud contact

I've moved on from hating bat flips like that because it makes you look like a tool to just hating it because throwing a baseball bat that high into the air is just a dumb idea. You know, on the off chance it hits someone on the way down.

I kinda agree with this. At some height it's genuinely dangerous since everyone near you is almost certainly looking at the ball.

Nobody forgets. Being a slow starter is not something that should just be accepted when you have a tiny track record of success like Casas has. He doesn't have money in the bank. Start hitting beyond just "loud contact" or he won't be here long term. This isn't a Dustin Pedroia situation where he had an initial slow start and then never looked back.

Unless you have a really compelling reason, it's probably best not to get too concerned about individual performances before say... Memorial Day.
