Red Sox/MLB 2025 Regular Season IV - Kristian Campbell sent down to Worcester

Jacob Misiorowski throwing filth for Milwaukee....again.

He didn't give up a hit, over his first 11 innings in the majors (over 2 starts). 100mph+ fastball, and a nasty, nasty 96mph slider. He's also just effectively wild enough to scare the absolute shit out of hitters.

If he can keep his arm from exploding, he's gonna be something special....Reminds me of a young, right-handed Randy Johnson.

I was kidding about me but the Narvaez deal looks good

The Devers deal was complex

Crochett deal with health was a very good deal

I’d wait till off-season see where they are

Giolitto finally has his FB back

Buehler looking shaky
I'll give you Narvaez (for now) but they are literally 1/5! How much confidence can you have at this point!

Oh no - Raffy goes 0 for 5.

lol

You have 0.0 credibility

Crochett has been very good and you don’t count that

Yankees have been sputtering, division tightening up. I still don't think the Sox have enough to stay in it but we'll see when Bregman is back in lineup.

Ah. So they want obedient players who never ask to get paid what they're worth. Can't imagine how that will go down with the MLBPA. (spoiler: it will create a shit storm)
You have made up your own narrative on this. This was never a $ issue with Devers, he got paid what was a fair contract when it was signed. You can't turn this upside down and say the only reason they got rid of him was money. Did that help their case for justifying it? Yes. Do I agree with it? Not entirely. That said, given Devers absolute BS act around first being the DH and then being asked to help the team at 1B was the impetus for the trade. Add in him being an ahole in the clubhouse and something needed to be done. I'm not against the trade given his unwillingness to help the team. I don't care if he was their superstar or the best player on the team, he was an "problem". They tried to work through it but he was basically a crybaby from day one. By the way, the rest of the roster didn't seem all that concerned that he was sent packing. Follow that narrative.

Such an uncomfortable at-bat for so many reasons. Brewers have a gem.

I mean he is hardly the only one talking about money. It wasn't the motivating factor to explore trading him but it absolutely was the main concern for John Henry when it came to what trade they would accept. They could have gotten better return if they ate some of the money.

Ultimately I don't care if the players are happy he's gone. I care about winning baseball games. The Red Sox were in their best stretch of baseball with Devers at DH so nobody can even argue that it's addition by subtraction. The Red Sox are a better team with Devers at DH. Fact. If you wanna say this gives Breslow great flexibility, fine. I just have zero confidence in the Red Sox ability to put a winning team on the field. The organization operates in a constant state of dysfunction.

No. They should've made Devers the 1B while biting the bullet financially so they could trade Casas for Castillo.

I wouldn’t have hated it.

Of course there is alway a chance Raffi would have had some sort of issue with that plan as well and created drama over it.

Wonderfully entertaining win full of bad baseball.

Sean Hjelle has the longest legs in baseball history.

Home plate umpire did Sox no favors, but still, 8 walks?

7 pitchers to win a 9-inning game. Cora loves those off days.

Chapman can still bring it like no one else. And he's still deplorable person.

Lefty Joey Lucchesi came in with an ERA over 10. Still good enough to make Anthony look like a little leaguer.

Dominic Smith, recent Sox player, pinch hit in big spot. Couldn't believe Whitlock walked him. Zero command. Threw 34 pitches in his ONE inning.

Hamilton seems happy to see Campbell gone.

Rex Sox leaders in base on balls: Devers with 56, Campbell with 29.
