Yes, I know Crochet had 16 k's, but won-loss record still counts and he will be .500 or worse at the end of the year.

Whip of 1.7 is a little high don't you think. You're worried about his personal won-loss record?
He has a career 2.98 ERA, 141 ERA+, 2.81 FIP, 1.135 WHIP, 11.7 K/9, 3.0 BB9.
This season, he has a 1.98 ERA, 201 ERA+, 2.71 FIP, 1.068 WHIP, 10.3 K/9, 2.9 BB9.
Those are ace numbers. He's doing his job to win games.

Yes it is.....But Crochet doesn't have a 1.7 WHIPWhip of 1.7 is a little high don't you think.
I misread it. Anyway, he is not pitch-efficient and is a 2.5 pitch pitcher.......Supporting/analytics are good, but not an ace and neither was Degrom that year. Analytics has gone too far. Win loss and at least getting to the 7th still counts.Where are you seeing a Whip of 1.7?

For now you obviously win-for the sake of the board too. Even I can do the math of more than seven innings per start in what ,nine starts. However ,watch his aforementioned stats until the end of the season.Garrett Crochet currently leads all of Major League Baseball in Innings Pitched with 68.1.
He's eligible to come off the IL on Monday, but he just started his throwing program.#FreeMasa
