I think the only way PDB gets the axe is if Nill believes he has lost the locker room, like most coaches do after a few years. If that is the case, he will let Pete resign to save face.
I doubt they let Jamie go, but will force him to re-up for one year at no less than $1Mil (anything less is a slap in the face to any vet, much less your captain.) It may be that Benn comes back and retires right after his 400th goal.
I think Nill will do fine in the offseason again, despite those here who think they know how to GM better than he has. Of course, around here, Nill doesn't know what he is doing, but he ended up doing just about everything everyone here said they wanted, plus some (the mantra was that Nill just picks up scraps and never makes a big deal)
We are disappointed with what was a very successful season, even without winning it all. Since we didn't win, Nill will tweak the roster. The good news is that, as Bob Gainey once said, it only takes a few changes and additions to the roster to turn a team around. This team doesn't need to be turned around, so perhaps one key addition and/or subtraction or two will be all that is necessary.
I hate to say it, but in reality, maybe missing the PO's next year would help. They have played a lot of extra games in the playoffs the last few years, almost enough to constitute a complete seasons worth of games. They did look tired, and not capable of generating their style of play in other than short bursts.
