Unrestrained capitalism inevitably consolidates into monopolies
We are not supposed to discuss politics here, but I am not one for regulation, and Capitalism sure beats the alternatives. Anyway, I hope FSG does not get the Celtics. I anticipate it will be someone else, but FSG is possible as there is astoundingly no conflict of interest rule as thy have in the NFL.

Bregman incoming

We go this way?
I'm good with it.
Followed by:
Casas
Story
Abreu
Wong
2b
Rafaela

In a weird way, I think Abreu is going to be one of the biggest indicators of success this year.

If he can provide something like:

.275 - 25 - 85 w/ a .770+ OPS

This has the chance to be a very potent lineup.

I have zero issues with the Dodgers. None. Any big market fanbase shouldn't either. It's exactly who we want the Red Sox to be. John Henry used to act like the Dodgers. He used to care about winning. Players want to play for a top organization who cares about winning. If you want to swing players to your team start winning. More often than not the Dodgers DON'T win the WS. They have two in this long run they have been on.

They have 1.5.

At best.

Schilling beats CC Sabathia in every measurable outside of wins (because he spent his prime with the moribund Phillies) and CC's one Cy Young (Schill finished 2nd three times, blocked by peak Randy Johnson twice and Johan Santana once, while CC won in 07 despite Beckett and Lackey having better numbers).

Other than that, what makes CC first ballot and Schill on the outside looking in (other than being a turd sandwich of a human).

Statistically, Shilling should be in but his post career shenanigans cost him. Numbers can be there but if you piss off the voters, you aren't getting in.

CC shouldn't be first ballot and I'm not sure he should even be in and especially not before Louis Tiant (RIP).

Does Shaughnessy have a vote
Yes, I believe so and as much as he deserves to get ragged on, I don't think it was him who left Ichiro off the ballot.

CC is not a hall of fame player. Very good but not HOF. Don't torch me because I loved Luis Tiant but he isn't a HOF player either. Both were very good with some highlight years but not highlight careers. Also, first ballot for CC is just an icing joke on top of the cake.

Also, you put CC in but the likes of Tiant, Tommy John and Dennis Martinez are on the outside looking in...the HOF is a sham just like the Rock & Roll HOF.
