I am all for calling them cheap but not being able so sign a home grown player in 3 years because you overspent on Bregman for the feels would be much much worse than not signing him.

He seems to be obsessed that his AAV is lower on the Diamondbacks deal. So give him a higher AAV with opt outs. No interest in him after 33.

If they overspent on Bregman and say that is why they can't sign a home grown player than yes, they are cheap. The team that is in the top 3 or 4 teams each year in revenue can afford both.

they're the Boston F'ing Red Sox, not the As or Marlins. signing home grown players and paying for FAs are not mutually exclusive options.

I was at that game with a bunch of people from work

I did not remember Gossage but I do remember it was A Rod first game and John Valentin recorded an unassisted triple play - so casual I wasn’t sure and don’t think many people did as well

It was rainy before game and we went to the famous Rathskeller in Kenmore and did some serious drinking

By end of game we were front row by the visitor on deck circle
