We DID have interest in him last year...Murphy wouldn’t suck I suppose. Especially if he’s replacing Dumba.

15 NHL blockbuster trades that led to Stanley Cup glory
NHL teams adding star power ahead of the trade deadline can only dream they work out as well as these 15 jaw-dropping deals.ca.sports.yahoo.com
Just a reminder that not all TDL trades lead to a Stanley Cup, but here is a list of the top 15. I will bet that for every one of these stories, there are at least 25 of those teams that didn't do any better in the PO's than they had the year before.
These 15 go back over 30 years, or about one cup winning trade every two years, when there are about 20 trades per year at the TDL, maybe more. So, 15 out of 450, or about a 3% chance that the Stars will win the Cup because of Granlund, Ceci, and D man "X" yet to be acquired.
Obviously, Nill has to try, but chances are that one more trade will not change the destiny of this year's Stars team.
Apparently he's hurt...Bob Sturm just posted the famous Dallasman eyesfollowing a tweet that Marchand is not at Bruins practice.
He normally knows stuff.
Give me Murphy over Dumoulin.Us acquiring a forward means one of two things:
1. Seguin isn't expected to play much in the playoffs, contrary to everything we've heard thus far
2. One of Stankoven or Bourque is scratched for the playoffs
I don't really see either as a strong possibility.
We're 14 forwards deep, with a ton of balance and scoring. Not overly physical, but that hasn't been our game for three years now. I've been posting it for weeks and other people have too, but there just isn't room for another forward in this lineup:
Robertson - Hintz - Stankoven
Marchment - Duchene - Seguin
Benn - Johnston - Granlund
Steel - Bourque - Dadonov
Back, Blackwell
The injuries have hit the defense the hardest. That was where we were weakest to begin the year too. I would be surprised if we don't add another defenseman, with the likeliest options being Dumoulin or Savard. Hell give me both, if the prices aren't astronomical. Acquiring one will give us, when healthy, 7 legit NHL caliber defensemen. Dumba, Smith, Petrovic, etc. are not gonna work in the playoffs, and we have to make moves to assure they don't see playoff ice time.
Give me Murphy over Dumoulin.
Glad Jake Evans was signed. One of those barely mid guys I'm sick of hearing about by the time the trade deadline ends
