Jake Evans extended and Fredrick moving to the Oilers (not sure why they are adding a F....but Stunley I guess) taking two options off the table for teams considering Donato.

I would target Lucius/Lambert Winnipeg, Halliday Ottawa, and Piotra/Parascak/Lapierre/Miroschichenko Washington (obviously need to add to Donato for a few of these.....but bundle up a 2nd with Donato and you get in the zip code of most if not all). We also at some point need to make (the hopefully correct) choice on Allan, Korchinski, Kaiser, EDM as all 4 likely don't have a NHL lineup spot with Vlassic already taking one and can package the odd man out.

Zegras isn’t going to be a crazy cost. Guy has fallen off since his 2023 season. Only 30 pts in this and last season combined (roughly 66 GP)

send them Kaiser and a 2nd or something and see if he can find that 50-80 point upside again, I'd bet on it being a reasonable likelihood tbh with the right deployment

How do you know that they were coming to see Reichel? I feel like that have an insane amount of soft winger/center hybrids already.

I dont know who on the Hawks they could possibly be scouting? Dach Bertuzzi Murphy?

Zegas has some talent, but he's not what the Hawks need....not in the least.

I don't think we're getting Zegras, but wouldn't mind him if the price was right.

He'd be another smaller, soft player up front, but he's also got some skill to his game, even if it's not as much as people initially expected out of him. This team is desperately missing that level of skill up front.

And he plays a fast game, which as the last two games have shown here, is how this Hawks team should be playing. An up tempo style that is willing to trade chances.

I will freely admit that I have not watched enough of Clarke at the NHL level to give an informed opinion on whether we should acquire him, but I absolutely hated his play at the World Juniors a couple years ago and that bad taste is still in my mouth. Incidentally, the last dman I hated that much at the world juniors was Bouchard.

Him and Zellweger and the world juniors was nightmare fuel. Two idiots with no idea how to defend trying every stupid play to score and it not working.

They were lucky Bedard went god mode and Del Mastro cleaned up their messes.
