2025 NHL Playoffs

Some of the criticism of Toronto has been unfairly leveled but tonight's performance was an all time turd. What a pathetic showing

I feel like Hertl flies under the radar a bit as a guy who actually just isn’t all that good in the playoffs. Feel like he’s living off one postseason, which was good but not great

While Marner and Matthews are part of the problem, I think part of it is distribution of talent. If they had a Marner/Nylander level player on D instead of forward, they probably have more playoff success. You can't have virtually all of your big money players at forward. They need a strong leader too, a guy that can step up during playoffs and lead by example and not just a support player/aging vet that has gone deep in the playoffs before.

How long before the owner of the Golden Knights decides to blow things up because of a second round exit? Foley doesn't seem to like losing at all and holds little loyalty to his players or management.

There is no blowing it up. The top 4 on D and top 3 forwards all have NTC/NMC's. They're just going to have retool around that the next 2 years. 100% still going to be a playoff team but unless they find some cheap wing scoring in free agency probably not a Cup contender. Once the Petro/Stone deals are off the books coupled with the cap going up it's going to be big game hunting time again.
