2025 NHL Playoffs

You'd have to think there is absolutely no chance Rob Blake is getting a contract extension.....unless?

Also I wish we could have had that commentator that commentated on the Ducks-Kings game a few weeks ago commentating on this one, would love to hear her thoughts about the awesome, amazing Kings getting bounced in the first round yet again.

This is something that in any other big market in this country would trigger a full housecleaning, but fortunately the Old Boys Club is alive in LA and Phil Anschutz might be even less plugged in to the day-to-day operations of his hockey team than the Samuelis are, with the added caveat that they are one of the most profitable teams in the league, giving him no competitive incentive to do so

Hahahahaha Kings are terrible again.

It will be interesting to see if Edmonton can beat Vegas. They didn't look unbeatable either.

I'd be surprised if Vegas don't comfortably win, they and Minnesota looked significantly better then either Edmonton or LA imo.

Not sure Edmonton can get by with their terrible defending and goaltending against the very best teams, but I guess anything can happen when you have McDavid on your team.

curious to see where the kings go from here

do they take it a step further and make a trade for another star to salvage whatever kopitar/doughty have left? or do they tell those two to f*** off and go back to their rebuild?

They don't really have a choice but to ride out Doughty and Kopitar. There is no trading them. Best play is probably to move Fiala for a similar level player that is more consistent. Knowing Blake though he'll use Clarke for that.

Kind of crazy Getzlaf still has 22 more playoff games then Kopitar and 24 more then Doughty, and Getz last played a playoff game 7 years ago.

Just kind of goes to show that:
a) We had a ton of deep playoff runs and it's pretty frustrating we only came out of it with one Cup
b) Outside of the 2012-2014 playoffs, the Kings have been perennial playoff losers being bounced in the first round on a regular basis. Take out the 2012-2014 playoffs, and the Kings last first round playoff win was beating the Red Wings in 2001.

My favourite is that Montreal has won a Western Conference playoff series more recently then the Kings

I love repeating this to my fellow coworkers who are Kings fans every year. They would have probably won a Cup now had they stayed the course.

After that last Kings game vs the Ducks so happy they got bounced in the 1st round.

Both my least favorite teams , Kings and Devils got bounced . Will probably continue on the Florida bandwagon they are the team to beat . Plus, like watching Barkov play.
