That's exactly what I mean, not having good depth of pipeline means they really have no choice but to sign guys like him and Nurse for more than they probably should, and deploy them in ways they sometimes shouldn't. And you feel like you have to live with their flaws.

Missing Ekholm is also a big deal this series. He was a huge reason EDM almost won a cup last year.

The Kings losing to the Oilers without Elkholm the entire series is comical - they should probably just give up on the whole contending thing at that point

Also saw a stat that Matthews/Marner/Nylander have a combined 0 PP goals in Games 5-7 in their careers. That boys and girls is called choking.

LA v Edmonton is so far below the other series in terms of quality in the West so far IMO. Neither team is doing anything in the post-season that would make the likes of Vegas/Minnesota/Dallas/Colorado/St Louis scared.

Winnipeg just have disaster tier goaltending....that Hellebuyck extension is brutal, basically tied in to one of the worst playoff goaltenders I've ever seen when they are competing.

Best goaltender in the league until the playoffs start. Great regular season goaltender, terrible playoff goaltender. Even Game 5, Winnipeg wins in spite of Hellebuyck, not because of him, just some terrible rebound control.

To put it in perspective, in his last 15 playoff games, he's had two games above .900sv% and given up 4+ goals in 10 of those games.

I'd take Oettinger, Bob, Vasi, Hill, Shesterkin over Hellebuyck at the moment tbh.

I'm super hyped about Sens-Leafs.
In social there is a lot of statistics going around showing how incapavle are the Leafs core-4 in elimi ation games. They all have played in combined 51 elimination games and have scored only 11 goals.

I'm cheering for Sens here, but my logic says that somehow Leafs find a way to take the series at some point.
