2025 NHL Playoffs

That should have been the conference finals series. Not sure we will see a better series.
Ya tough act to follow for the 2nd round matchups...

Tho i have a lot of faith in the
Florida vs Toronto matchup

Washington vs carolina prob going to be a sleeper
Vegas vs oilers looks kinda meh on paper

Jets/Blues vs Dallas could be solid.

the rest of the playoffs are going to be interesting.

Dallas is getting Heiskanen back so they have a very good chance of coming out of the west you’d think
Agreed... not really sold on Vegas... Oilers just dont have the goaltending ....
Winnipeg has been very sus if they move on, Blues just dont really match up well vs dallas to me.

Rantanen woulda been very nice on carlssons wing.... but would have costed Mctavish+... i think having Carlsson + McTavish down the middle will be a strong area for us as a team going forward.
Yeah definitely. Best case scenario would be if Carolina had kept him and he went to FA. Hopefully someone on our core reaches Rantanen level.

It’s not the sole reason, there are many factors, poor goalie play, poor defensive play, injuries, bad coaching / good coaching, puck luck, whistles, confidence, roster construction, playoffs vs regular season.

John Gibson didn’t have above a .904 save percentage the last 5 seasons, and had 2 seasons sub .900. Did I think he suddenly forgot how to be a goalie, or were the other factors into his statistical decline ?

How is that Gibson example relevant at all? The argument was about there being a huge difference from regular season to the playoffs. The Ducks haven't been in the playoffs.

Yes, goalies playing in front of bad teams have worse numbers. So what?

Idk that anyone will be like Rantanen

but a beefed up Sennecke could be a weapon ( and he seems to turn up for playoffs)

Carlsson i guess would be closest.

I can’t see the leafs doing well against the Panthers.

Blues could be a Cinderella team.

True, I could see Sennecke keeping that playoff riser streak going in the NHL. Have my doubts as well that any of our guys end up being 95+ point getters but having various players near or above point per game should perfectly fine. Hard not to imagine Rantanen added in the mix though.

Eh still got to beat winnipeg in winnipeg....

Id like to see Schenn win another cup... but im not sure the blues can beat Vegas or Dallas... i still think the jets win tomorrow

No relevant I’m prettt sick, so not making sense …. But I was replying to someone who said he doesn’t understand how someone could be great all regular season and not good in the playoffs. And I just pointed out playoffs are a different game completely. Wasn’t the sole reason he is struggling, but it does probably have an effect.

I don't disagree about the playoffs being harder. I'm just saying there's no way that alone is an explanation for that drastic of a dropoff. Which you didn't say, I think someone else did.

Feel better.

I always had a soft spot for the old North Stars. And let's remember, before the Ducks were awarded as an expansion team, the Stars almost ended up in Anaheim.
Is that why the North Stars & Mike Modano were in the Mighty Ducks movie ?

Avs fans must be crushed.
2-0 going into the 3rd, including a SHG, and then they get absolutely bent over by Mikko, their recent ex-star player that they traded away themselves.

Now imagine Dallas with Robo and Heiskanen back. They must be favorites, what a team.
