2025 NHL Playoff Thread (Non-Panthers)

Toronto in crisis control mode, but trying to sound reasonable. To a degree they make sense BUT the point that gets missed IMO is that they’re now so desperate that they only talk about winning a Stanley Cup instead of building the right kind of team.

They are doing it wrong and they’re saying it wrong IMO and therefore will always fall when the going gets tough.

Dallas has quite literally put Alex Petrovic on the ice in multiple games this season.

Yup, I've said it all year....Dallas' D sucks. They're also a soft team. Edmonton has controlled the whole series, they just took too many undisciplined penalties late in game 1 and blew the game. I really don't know if we can beat the Oilers this year. They are getting lots of depth scoring and are deeper than last year. And Ekholm will return soon. Plus they would start at home and if they pump a couple quick goals in game 1,: they'll have that crowd behind them the whole game. It would be a great and close series though. It just feels like McDrai 's time, like it felt like our time last year.

Ironically some of their better depth got oversheeted this year
Two picked ups in arvidssen and skinner barely play

Walman was a solid pickup for them

Still not super impressed with their defense on paper but they play good overall defense

Podkolzin was a good get for them though. Great forecheckers and works well with Draisiatl. Kane is back looking good, Brown is scoring a lot of big goals, even Kapanen has been decent, he won the Vegas series in OT. I also think Arvidsson will come back in at some point. Frederic and Perry are on their 4th line, I mean that's pretty good. Holloway and Broberg were solid, but they've more than replaced them. Walman is a really good defenseman. Idk what happened between him and Detroit, but it's looking like another Yzerman blunder. He's a great two -way D. Klingberg has also been solid. On paper, their D isn't great, but yeah they play good team D. Dallas has generated nothing at ES. I also feel like their 2 headed monster in goal will be good enough this year, Skinner with 3 shutouts in his last 4 games.

Hopefully we can get a good start on them like year before they wake up

And for bob to go god mode

Last night the Oilers played a similar defensive strategy as the Leafs did. Collapse around the net and block as many shots as possible.

Panthers were able to defeat this strategy and I'm sure the coaches are working on it.

The Oilers don't play a physical game and when they try to, they are extremely dirty. Example is Nurse slashing Hintz across the ankle last night, sending him to the locker room. Perry is very dirty and when they get hit, Drai and McD take cheap, retaliatory shots back - see Drai on Barky last year.

Pound em so in game 4 they got nothing left.

If it’s Oilers, we go after McD and Dry, legally, but relentlessly and hard. Without those two they don’t have crap. And as “good” as people claim Oilers’ D to be playing, we’re even better. Clamp one-trick-crapper beachebum and agitate low-iq-loser nurssss and they’re done with Alex Auld in goal.

DeBoer isn't wrong, but... the slash wasn't that bad. Unfortunately, it looked like Nurse caught the top of his foot, which is maybe the worst place you could catch a guy with that.

The league MUST protect ALL players from gutless shit like the slash to Hintz, and other egregious attacks throughout the year and especially in the playoffs.

f*** McCryBaby, Cryseistal, and the other protected few.

How there was no supplemental discipline from game 1 with the Bumpkins is a crime. Shitnikov, Assho, Douchdisbehere should have received monetary punishment at a minimum.
