2025 NHL Playoff Thread (Non-Panthers)

I have not seen anyone talking about this, the way Washington is manhandling Montreal physically is something I have not seen in the NHL, blatant sticks to the mouth (like Gallagher in yesterday game), taking them down when the puck is not closed enough to be considered legal, and Montreal players are small and when they take them down they fly 2-3 feet in the air, it is brutal, the difference in the calls between those games and the ones we play is enormous.

And still, With the over the top physicality from Washington, the games have been very close, Montreal has not won yet, Washington's goalie has been playing out of his mind, I am not so sure, they are going to get far.

Can we talk about Stolarz and Montembeault?, 2 ex-panthers goalies, the both have been impressive, specially Montembeault, he is been seeing some serious wood and made spectacular saves, they are representing very well the panthers.

I complain about officiating too much, but you're absolutely correct that the Caps are getting away with murder.
I never complain about officiating, I leave that to the Leafs, but the Caps are actually body trashing these small guys, and they bounce back like Teletubbies and continue fighting, that is a lot of heart!! much respect to them!

If Ottowa, while home, tightens up their defense and keeps the pressure on, they can get back into the series.
I loved Stolarz and wish he was still here as a backup HOWEVER he appears shaky to my eye.
If the Laffs lose a game (or two) and Stolarz lets in a weak couple of goals, the creepy fanbase will begin calling for Woll and then, PRESTO, that will open the choke scenario that Toronto excels at.

I want the Leafs gone, I think Ottawa can even up the series.

ottawa doesnt have the guns and ullmark is leaving a skidmark in the crease

Leafs have a decent defense and tending finally to match their offense so i see them sweeping if not in 5 games

Once they get to us theyll crumble, our depth from when we faced them two years ago is substantially better, and better defensively, BOB went god mode that series though

I agree with you 50%, Drai can take a long walk off a short pier.

But I don’t feel bad for MickeyD. I enjoy that the huge top contracts are preventing them having a championship team.

I feel for a top athlete who strives for greatness with every moment, like Gretzky, Mario, Yzerman, Bourque, etc., I'd really like to see him win a Cup .

If Ottowa continues to allow Max Dopey to do a poor Bobby Orr impression, in OT no less, then they have NO chance.

I don't feel bad for McD. He's getting paid 12.5, and has been for the past 7 seasons. Many here complained about Bob's 10m ruining the salary cap for the Panthers, what about his 12.5?
I don't blame the guy for getting paid, but then don't feel bad because hiscteam can't surround him with the talent to be an annual contender.

He's got one more year on his contract, will his next one tie his team's hands too?

Oilers will give him $18M per because they have to or else he goes to Toronno Oilers.

Yeah but he's the best player in the league, he deserves to get paid like that. His contract is not hampering Edmonton, it's contracts like Nurse that are really hurting the Oilers.
