I remember before the season started it felt half of the fanbase was like yeah I went him just for his name.

Desnoyers up to 42pts in 26 games... 17yo and he’s the best player on the best CHL team... 👀

moncton is the best chl team, or you meant the top prospect team, moncton has a lot of already drafted players, and he is clearly not the best player on the prospect team, I dont see how guys like frondell and eklund have an advantage besides "men" league experience, im not too fond of the nordics leagues, pretty much in the same way we know the khl is a league full of scrubs, not saying the shl is that but their game level is just as unpressive

misa
hagens
schaefer
martone

if we dont hit a top 4, drink a full peptobismol and draft any of these
desnoyers
frondell
bear
eklund
smith

As of right now I have my top 6 as;

1 - Schaefer
2 - Misa
3 - Hagens
4 - Martone
5 - Frondell
6 - Desnoyers

My order will probably change as the season progresses. Hopefully I can add in another name or two onto this list.

This is my order of who I want the Habs to draft and anyone after this would make for a disappointing season.

I want the Habs to either tank and get a top 6 pick or go on a nice run and play some meaningful games later in the season. Not saying that they will be near the playoffs but enough that they will be over .500 and competing in every game.

We need another C.

Suzuki
Hagens/Frondell
Hage
Beck

Kirby and Nouveau-Crochet as wingers or it's goodbye.

A Center and RD would be ideal with the 2 first rounders but last time we went after the Center/RD we took KK/Reinbacher and passed on Tkachuk and Michkov. Two draft years where we targeted Center/RD and they were weak draft years for those positions.

How does the depth look like at Center/RD from lets say 1-20 range in this draft? Are we picking from a slim list or is it loaded with several options?

If Hage makes it as a center it will be a 2C

Beck in no shape or form is looking like a 4C, he's a very solid 3C in the making that could hopefully also spot in as a 2C if there are injuries

If we can do it....I'd package both of our second rounders with the Calgary 1st to move up as high as possible.

Schaefer + Desnoyers is the dream.

Get our top 6 left shot center.. a big rangy, mean right shot defenseman with some offense.. and a high motor, physical, with some skill winger who can slide up and down the line up.

I like that you have Carbonneau in your Top 15...Good List.

Side question regarding Quebec hockey for anybody...Who was the last good player to come out of Montreal? I'm not talking about St Jerome or Blainville or St Hyacinthe, i'm talking about the island. Seems like it's been a while for a such a big damn city.

I don't mind that play either. It is always nice having more chances. But, at where you previously ranked Cootes and Mrtka, where do you put their probability of success at that draft rank compared to historical averages?

Let's say we end up with 11 (Cgy pick) + 35 (our 2nd) + 42 (Pitts 2nd).

Assuming that our 1st is a top 3....would you not take a swing to move up to 5, 6 or 7 with that kind of package? Particularly if we land Schaefer with ours and have a shot at Desnoyers?

35 + 42 would likely only move us up to the 24-28 range. So.....3rd + 11th + 24th or 3rd + 6th? Ill take 3rd + 6th overall to add to our current prosects....

Demi, Hage and Rein.

Go as high end as possible!

It's pretty much equal; but you would have a third shot at getting a player, vs just only having two.

I don't mind trying to climb up with the other picks to get the Calgary pick higher, I'm just not sure if there's a team that does that. Usually the teams at the top of the draft are stocked with picks and prospects. You'd need to see a team like Pittsburgh in that situation where the accumulation of extra picks would be a boon for them as their prospect pool and pick cupboard is so bare.

He's basically 2025 Dvorsky. I'm not surprised at all he's right up your alley.

Peters and Robinson just talked about him falling into the teens, EP just ranked him there as well.

I still really like Frondell, I think those takes will age poorly as he gets healthy.

But if he's there for the Calgary pick I will be more than glee.
