Murtagh is getting some love in the top-20 now

I like him with our 2nd pick, good size and plays north-south aggressively, Jimmy Snuggerud style pick

Sandpaper like Bear would inject some much needed edge on this soft team. I guess he’ll be a tweener between our first and CGY’s pick so we’ll need Hugo to pay up, which I’m all for.

And if we get the first, I’ll predict Schaeffer will be impossible to ignore.

These are my two guys. Bear needs to be a Habs, it’s bordering on essential.

According to Stanley 25, the Canadian (Nick Bobrov, Martin Lapointe and Serge Boisvert) went observed the young Caleb Desnoyers several times since the start of the season, especially in Quebec.Stanley25: le CH épie de près un jeune joueur de centre québécois

I really like Desnoyers. He is going to be a better player than PLD to me.

After Schaefer, Hagens, Martone and Misa, I would really like grab Desnoyers, if Sennecke go #3 in 2024 draft, Desnoyers can easily go #5-10 in this year draft.

No shit. That's not the point. My point was that a shit league can be misleading. It is a shit league. Take off the obvious fleur-de-lys glasses and put down the blue and white pompoms for a minute and look up its graduates of the last 10 years. Hockey Quebec as a whole is in a truly dark era and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel with how good the US program is becoming.

I wish it was better, but it's not. I'm far from the only one saying this. It's pretty much a concensus now, and people like you cheerleading it no matter what, doesn't help. If you can't be critical of the things you like, you end-up being simply a fanboy.
Truth hurts , time heals all

I want Schaefer, I don’t care about anyone else right now
I like the two C's , Schaefer looks incredible though

According to QMJHL data Desnoyer is 6'2''. His stats on Face Off =63.4% which is very good. Yesterday, during the CHL vs USA game, he was playing center between Misa and Martone which seems to suggest that he is in his place as a center. The Habs really need top 6 center and only Hage seems qualified as a prospect for the 2nd center position.

Tall, mobile, gritty with a good shot and playmaking, but doesn't have highlight reel stickhandling. He might never be a superstar, but it's easy to project a top 6 center here.

I imagine the Habs are thinking they might improve a bit and not end up in the bottom 3 or 4 teams, at which point Desnoyers is one of the top choices. It makes total sense to scout him in that case, since he's playing in their backyard.

We know, and they know, that there will be outrage until the end of time if they pass on the Quebec kid and he ends up a stud.

Like i said, he has a chance to be ahead of Misa on my list at the draft. Desnoyers is the real deal. Its a rare thing in quebec that we produce that kind of player.

Pit him in the OHL and he would be right up there with Misa and Martone.

Really impressed with Desnoyers.

Haven’t seen him as much as some, but he always looks dialed-in, ready for anything.

If Habs pick fifth or sixth, he looks like a great take there.

Nice mix of moxy and money.
