thank youNo. Both Dallas and Winnipeg are higher in the standings. So whomever wins it is irrelevant.
It's any teams lower in the standings than the Kings who make the semifinals.

Rankings are a bit all over the place. Semi or fully realistic options at our pick I would like...
B. Kindel
C. Potter
I. Ryabkin
L. Hensler
S. Boumedienne
M. Spence
injury prone he has the smell or Kirby Dach and Cayden LindstromI’ve seen McQueen dropping from 11-13 in mock drafts wonder what it would take to move up if he drops. Dude is a beast!
Prognosticators I've seen have the Kings selecting RC Braeden Cootes of Seattle Thunderbrids from Sherwood Park Alberta near EdmontonRankings are a bit all over the place. Semi or fully realistic options at our pick I would like...

both will Win...Capitals and Maple Leaves are doneIf both Carolina and Florida win their series, the pick goes up to 24. If one wins, it becomes 25. If neither win, it's 26.
Would rather it be a RightCentre like Cootes cause we'll need more skill by then with our aging vets...on Defense the the Kings have high hopes for a couple or 3 players to emerge from Dvorak,Booth,Salin,Kirsanov and WoolleyI’m starting to think it’ll be either Blake Fiddler or Sascha Boumedienne.. big, mobile, tough, physical Dmen after watching our D get pushed around again
Turcotte could be a 3rd liner Centre and Kempe as the numero uno and Byfield at 2nd line centre...The Kings are in a weird spot right now - most of their best prospects are now in juniors OR with the team in the show since they traded 1st round picks in 2022 and 2023.
Clarke, Thomas, Turcotte, Laffy (barely played in Ontario) and Helenius all graduated to LA full time - all draft picks from 2018 thru 2022.
Ziemmer, Lawrence, Dvorak, Booth, Salin and Wright should all be in Ontario. Add Pinelli in that group also. Not sure how much longer Chromiak can stay down there or if he is still considered a prospect at this point.
George, Greentree, Woolley (personal fav) all need to go back to juniors next season - sadly. These are three of the best prospects already.
Ontario will not have much in terms of high grade prospects - most of those players above are 2nd to 5th round picks. Hopefully Kirsanov comes over next summer to add him with the group.
I would argue the depth is only at goal and LHD - there are no top flight centers, no right handed D - Dvorak, Booth, Woolley, and Kirsanov all shoot L, only Salin shoots R.
So they need a Center and RHD.
Once Kopitar leaves, even if you move Byfield up to 1C - who is the 2C or 3C at that point? Danault will be 33 with two years left on his deal. Helenius is the future 4C.
Carolina won, so now the pick is 25.If both Carolina and Florida win their series, the pick goes up to 24. If one wins, it becomes 25. If neither win, it's 26.
Do not see Cootes, Reid and especially Aitcheson mentioned after my post being available at our pick. If so all would be valid options too. Aitcheson would be at the top of the list or next to Kindel on my list who I think goes in the teens yet seen ranked lower in some rankings.Prognosticators I've seen have the Kings selecting RC Braeden Cootes of Seattle Thunderbrids from Sherwood Park Alberta near Edmonton
Another one I recently watched who I have taken a liking to a lot is Cole McKinney. A bit on the heavier side of 6-foot-0 and 198 lbs, so he probably needs to improve his physical fitness. But he's a right shot, two-way center. Plays a heavy game where he likes to throw his weight around. Skates fast. Might not be a high-end player, but could be a middle/bottom-six player. Has a mean streak.
Even though I don't think he's the high-end skill player as far as stick-handling, playmaking, or shooting, he still led the USNTDP team in scoring.
I'm in the process of writing an article on it. My queue is building up, and hopefully they'll start coming out soon now that the GM hunt is over with. But this is a good video of him:
With late firsts, I'm okay with a player whose offensive skillset is a work in progress which stops them from being a consistent top-line player. I'm all for utility players who can do things even when they don't score.I know a lot of people think that a first round pic should be a high end top six player. But when you’re drafting as low as LA this year, it would be very pumped to get a high-end third line center.
Haven’t checked this kid out yet so I’ll put him on my list as well
Look at it this way. With a late first bid be happy with Stoll version 2.0. If they can carry out a key role and do it at a high level it’s a win. A physical 3c that wins big face-offs and plays pk1/2 is a key component, a rhs being a bonus. With late firsts, I'm okay with a player whose offensive skillset is a work in progress which stops them from being a consistent top-line player. Would be interested in your thoughts though!
Stoll is a good description. I said his style is very similar to Dustin Brown - two-way right-hand shot physical forward. Scores more through effort and net-front presence than through elite or consistent stickhandling or shooting skills.Look at it this way. With a late first bid be happy with Stoll version 2.0. Would love to see LA use a mid round pick on him.
We need a big center in the system with some upside.

First Holland, now this. Edmonton shaking in their boots right now in fear of facing us in next year's 1st roundFlorida winning moves the pick up to 24.
One more more spot that's more attractive to be traded.Florida winning moves the pick up to 24.
Here's the order for the top 2 rounds in case you're deranged like me and wanted to do a mock draft. Rangers have up to 48 hours before the draft to decide whether to give up this year's first or next to complete the J.T. Miller trade (Pittsburgh would end up with the pick). Looks like it's unconfirmed whether Philadelphia gets pick #48 or #54 from Calgary for the Farabee trade.
