Prospect Info: 2025 NHL DRAFT

We're exactly where we should be in terms of draft position.

We are 30th in terms of Wins, Points, and Goal Differential. We are 31st in terms of Goals Scored. And we have the longest losing streak in the entire league at the moment.

That we're going to suddenly show signs of life and shoot past 8 to 10 teams in the standings just doesn't seem to be a good bet.

I’m still undecided on which one of Hagens or Misa but I would take either one of them.

Hagens is a freshman centering a #1 line for the #1 team in college hockey. Yes he is on a line with Perrault and Leonard but kudos to him for his skills and having trust from coaches to be put in this spot.

Boston College is playing Boston University in the Beanpot final on Monday night on NESN

Misa was only 5th player ever to be granted “exceptional status” in 2022 and allowed to be able to be drafted and play in the OHL as a 15 year old. (He was drafted 1st overall). The OHL age limit is 16-20 years old.

Hagens has the "obvious skills". It's why he came into this year as the de facto #1 on everybody's lists. I'm not sure having 7g/22a and a little over 1ppg on a very stacked BC team really argues in his favor though? Perreault and Leonard are amongst the best prospects in all of hockey. That's not a huge production rate for all that with those linemates. (Stiga is a year older on the same team and has more goals as a rookie on the 2nd line). Although Hagens did great in the WJC. Being 5'10"/180ish isn't in his favor for the NHL either. :dunno:

I mean, I am not watching these guys. Either of Hagens or Misa would probably rank with Jones and Legwand as the highest rated prospect our franchise has ever had. So if we can just lock down a pick in the top-3, it's going to be a key building block either way. I'm slightly leaning Misa atm just from a stats-watching armchair view though. :dunno: (definitely doesn't mean anything)

Reactions: Bye Bye Blueston
BU beat BC 4-1 in the Beanpot final. Hagens was NOT on the first line with Perrault and Leonard.
Stiga had a great scoring chance in close when score was still tied at 1-1 but was robbed.
Both Hagens and Stiga each had 4 SOG but were also a -3.
BU freshman goalie Yegorov stole the show stopping 43-44 shots.

On Saturday, Michael Misa had a 5 point game and now has 99 Pts in 47 games for Saginaw. Leads the OHL in points, 2nd in goals, and tied for 1st in assists.

I haven’t seen Misa play live yet but a lot of what I’m reading about him has me excited about how we will just miss out on him as we fall outside the bottom 3 of the lottery.

Maybe we should have drafted that big BU goalie. He sure seems to be making a name for himself lately. (Of course at the time we were oh so secure with Askarov :eyeroll: )

I would not be against using one of our late 1sts or 2nds on a goalie this year. Goalies are really tough to peg and usually very risky picks that high in the draft. But with the extra picks and a supposedly weaker draft at other positions, maybe it's worth the gamble? Most places rank Joshua Ravensbergen in the 1st round still. Another big goalie.

Speaking of big goalies... did Pekka Rinne just roster in the Finnish 3rd division? Is he going to play a game? :amazed:
