Why would a rebuilding club want an over 30 year old, declining defenseman? Makes no sense.Lou trades Pelech/Pulock and our 25 1st to move up and select hometown Hagens. Lets go Lou
Always a good idea to throw 3rd to 5th round picks on goalies, particularly on ones from the KHL.What pick should we use to draft a goalie? Is this a good draft for goalies?
Agreed, more likely Lou would have to trade the 1st to move Pelech and Pulock contractsFrom your mouth to God's ear . . . dream on, it ain't happening

In all seriousness after seeing how well using every pick on a defenseman worked out for the franchise (trades included) at this point maybe take all forwards. One of them has gotta be an actual first liner.
Ravensbergen seems to be the consensus top goalie available, after that I'm in the dark. What pick should we use to draft a goalie? Is this a good draft for goalies?
This season proves that while we had goalies in the system, every one of them struggled mightily.Ravensbergen seems to be the consensus top goalie available, after that I'm in the dark.
TBF the top two of them are overseas and both had good yearsThis season proves that while we had goalies in the system, every one of them struggled mightily.
We need goaltending again.
So Reinhart got us Barzal, Pokka got us Leddy and Pelech turned out pretty good
We just drafted 2 last year that both had solid seasons . . . this is the year to focus on BPA's regardless of positionThis season proves that while we had goalies in the system, every one of them struggled mightily.

I was going to say he must of forgot Isles used 2 picks last year to draft two goalies Gidlof and Gamzin, who had solid seasons this year in the SHL and KHL.We just drafted 2 last year that both had solid seasons . . . this is the year to focus on BPA's regardless of position
My understanding was that you could move up 10 spots. So, since they're #12 right now they could move up to #2 if they won the lottery. Although aren't there the 3 stages now? Not sure how that part works. If I understand the draft lottery correctly, the spot we're currently in would mean that even if the Isles would win the draft lottery, we couldn't move up past spot 9.

I believe they draw for spots 1 and 2, so say we finish 12th, we would pick 2nd no matter which one we win

Something about him makes him a do not draft for me.If we don’t get any lottery luck, give me Jake O’Brien.
Though I suspect by draft night he will be considered by many a top 10 pick
You don’t like IrishmanSomething about him makes him a do not draft for me.

I expect to trade it in another Alex Romanov type of deal. Might not be the worst move we can make. That 13th overall pick (being traded for some mediocre player) is gonna make this board meltdown and i know its gonna happen.
