NHL 2025 NHL DRAFT Thread

Quick mock Did a lottery and Bruins finished 8

8, Jake O'Brien
52. Ethan Czata
59 Vaclav Nestrasil
71. Daniil Prokhorov
anywhere after...... Charlie Cerrato.

Schaefer is a left shot, they’d be moving Lindholm, Zadorov, or Lohrei to fit him in if they draft him
They are not bringing back much though.Personally can't see anyone touching Lindholm deal and Z would create a massive physical hole.Lohrei would interest people and most likely to go I agree, but what do u think he would bring,

Long video, but interesting how the draft fell. They had a decent amount of interesting things to say about Martone, Carbonneau, and Lakovic.

I also appreciated how they were knowledgable enough to know what each teams needs are with their respective prospect pools already.

Not a problem for a few years I'd guess.

According to Tankathon, the current team with the No. 4 pick in Seattle currently has these odds in the draft lottery:

1st overall: 9.5 percent
2nd overall: 9.5 percent
3rd overall: 0.3 percent
4th overall: 15.4 percent
5th overall: 44.6 percent
6th overall: 20.8 percent

In other words, a very good chance of sticking in the top-five — and a solid shot at moving up to No. 1 or No. 2, where a team could take a potential top-line center in Saginaw’s Michael Misa (62 goals, 134 points in 65 games) or a future No. 1 D in Matthew Schaefer.

Anything Brock does is worth paying attention to, even if that vid's thumbnail looks like it was done by my idiot nephew.

“And with the 3rd overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, the Boston Bruins are proud to select from the Madison Capitols, Mason Moe.”

Something that crossed my mind this morning that kind of goes back to the value of a draft pick.

Every YouTube mock draft I’m watching has Carter Bear falling into the early 20s. The bruins have 2 2nd round picks this year. I wonder if it could feasible for the bruins to trade up back into the first round for Bear if he’s there at the low 20s. Achilles injury is scary, but if the Bruins lock in a top 5 pick.. swinging big for Bear feels like a upside play I’d totally be on board with.

Also his name is Bear.. like come on..

I love Carter Bear and would absolutely do this, I suspect you'd have to add a significant piece on top of 2 #2s. Also not sure i believe Bear will fall that far. He was in the 9-12 range without the injury

If the Bruins win the lottery I would see how desperate SJ would be to select Schaeffer.

If the Bruins win the lottery:

Bruins trade 1st OA + Poitras
for
SJ trade 2OA or 3OA (wherever they select) + Will Smith

Bruins Select Misa with the 2OA or Hagens 3OA

Really doubt SJ does this but I've heard/read Schaeffer is bigger version of Quinn Hughes. In other words he's a bonafide stud.

Bruins would be loaded down the middle for years to come. Or just select the bigger version of Quinn Hughes?!?

I think San Jose would absolutely make a significant offer to move up. But no way that includes Will Smith.

Hard agree that I love Carter Bear.

The more people that I follow dig into the first round it seems like there’s the 2 tiers at the top that everyone likes, but then there’s maybe another tier of serviceable NHLers until around 22-24. Then a steep decline into the crap shoot.

If Bear has the injury and teams like the Carbonneau and Brady Martins of the world over that scenario.. I could maybe see him getting close to 20.

Idk. Maybe you’re right. Just fun to think about.

Like one of the 2nd round picks to be used on Reschny if he`s still there but I suspect he won`t be as the kid already having a monster playoffs with 8 pts in 4 games

More goals than McKenna!

might be true but Reschny isn`t in the class of McKenna

Reschny`s game reminds me of Krejci`s, quietly does everything well, look at the scoresheet at the end of the night, he`s almost always on it, makes his linemates better, plays in every situation, because he thinks the game at such a high level, allows him to make up for his lack of breakaway speed

I was just using hyperbole there for questionable comedic effect.

You've were on Reschny early on and the sole reason I've looked in on him a couple times.

oh yeah I knew you were, I love the kid, even on a mediocre at best team last year, kid just plays hard and I have a soft spot for players who are highly regarded by their coaches and trusted to play them in all situations and he was doing that last year in the final 20 games or so as the Royals made a push for a playoff spot

First half of the year, he was getting acclimated with the speed of the WHL game, by the end of the year, he simply got "it"

I think another year of Junior would help him though, not sure turning pro yet is ideal but what do I know?
