I don’t disagree. It’s not intended as a prediction. Bear is an older medium sized winger without high end skill and a lacerated Achilles (I knocked both him and McQueen down a tier because of injury concerns). He is heckuva player, but looks to bs middle 6 winger in nhl.

As for Aitcheson, as I told another poster, I love his compete and physicality but not much else. I think he is 4/5 D in NHL.

I realize that I am mostly alone with my ranking of Martin. He has been rising for me all year. Every time I saw Soo highlights he was involved. His point production in the second half was much improved (once Reid got there he finally had another top player, so that was certainly part of it). He looked stronger and quicker as year progressed. He has nice shot, great zone entry numbers, and I think more offense than I initially thought. There is some thought he could be wing, but if so he looks a lot like Ryan Leonard to me. I think he can be a top 6 center in mold of Brayden Schenn. Maybe he is only 50-60 point guy, but with what else he brings that puts him at 4 for me in what is an underwhelming class. It’s a reflection of my lack of love for the other highly touted guys (Martone, Hagens, frondell in particular) as well as my confidence that Martin is guy you want in playoffs.

I don’t disagree, but I think Martin will also have to tone it down a notch I like the kid too.

Could work out like that. Habs are drafting at 16,17. I'd be thrilled to get Bear and Aitcheson.

I was kind of hoping trading Colombus #2 next year and our #2 this draft to move up from 17 to 10-12 to get Martin. But it's not happening is it? With success of Bennett in playoffs, Martin seems to be rising with every mock I see

NHL Combine starts today in Buffalo. Only 90 kids invited this year. Pretty sure it’s usually 100. Not sure if that’s a cost cutting move or a reflection on this being a bit weaker draft or what.

The first 4-5 days are the most important but also the part we don’t get much visibility into - the interviews. Then they’ll all be measured and weighed and then the last 2 days are the fitness tests.

Usually some good nuggets come out of there every year.

I haven’t seen the list yet. I assumed they all may be going.

Here you go:

Two Russians based in Russia are there. Don’t think there’s been one or those at the Combine in at least 2 years.

Not sure if the heights/weights listed here are previous Central Scouting measurements or they’re self reported but I like to compare them to the official combine measurements when they come out.

Anxious to see combine measurements. I’m struggling to keep up with all the lists and mocks this year.

Martone isn’t official to anywhere that I’ve seen. Sounds like a lot of guys will be doing campus visits and then decide after the draft. That way the team that drafts them gets a say too.
You said "hearing both will end up at Michigan" and I'm refuting that information. You made it sound official

Yeah, the rumors for both were all centered on Michigan for weeks but now seem to have expanded. Sorry if I made it sound like it was official.
