Who should we pick 3rd overall (assuming Schaefer and Misa are gone)?

we'll see...said 6 months ago Nazar can take the hard matchups at center in the NHL and was told wrong about that, going to bet Frondell will ultimately be able to do the same...doesn't mean it will happen but its certainly not a zero percent chance it doesn't

As an outsider, I agree.

But if you've got the best medical experts on your staff, and they all give you the greenlight, then McQ is exactly the type of player you're looking for if you're the Hawks.

Low-key, Sharks might take Desnoyers at 2 and the Hawks pick Misa at 3. Im not holding my breath, but Mccagg heard the Sharks like Desnoyers and Scott Wheeler mentioned in his article that there were combine rumours of Desnoyers being a good fit for the team. I take Mckeggs draft rumors very seriously as he tends to be right on a lot of big ones.

By the way. Mckegg stated last year the Ducks like Sennecke and Yakemchuk at 3rd oa. They were both +2500 and i decided to go with only Yakemchuk thinking they’d prefer the Dman over the winger. I was pissed when Sennecke was taken because I could’ve made a ton of cash

Just saw a youtube from blue chip prospects putvout yesterday ..taking of the betting kibe and scuttlebutt from the combine from hockey journalist saying Hawks woukd take Frondeell..

But neither of thec2 hosts on that YouTube were enthused a boutvit...both had several otgervoptions before they ifGM would take Frkbdell at #3.

2 main criticism of Frondell were no transuon game and does not drive okay...best asset his size and close to pro ready body and his shot...They said his speed was ok (but at u18s he looked relatively Slow to my eyes) ..one host called hom Anton Lundell with a better shot.but the point is he cannot drive play ..

They did nit poibt out that he was over 53% on draws ...but they said maybe he plays wing with Brdard...in that case Brdard can set him up for 1 timers..and maybe he helps Bedard in a checking role...

Or if he is given a 2C role they move Nazar to wing for Bedard but that makes it a small line exceot tgat Nazar plays bigger than his size.. but in my opinion still do not want a line with 2 players of that short height.

One hist said the comfort Frondell is Lundell with a better shot...Lundell is a 45 points guy he pointed out ..so hard to justify that or even with 10 goals more=maybe a 55 points 2 way 2C as high as #3?..Nobody sees much more upside in that..
They said Chicgo cannotx afford d to miss and so play it safe picking Frondell I guess in terms of a Lundell when he was taken. was safe ..but neither hist that enthusiastic on Frondell that high of a pick.
Tgey did not think this was a MarionHossa for Bedard ...butvone host did say he thought tge smaller North American rinks will help Frondell to improve somewhat in the transition game..but in the end Hawks are not getting a gyy that can drive pkay.
Now we heard Vlasic say what type of pkayer Hawks nerd ..and he said Sam Bennett type..ie. physical with jam who can
get ubder the skin of the opps...that tgevopos hate to play against but the guys on his team are glad he is with them and not pkayong agaibst them.

I doubt Frondell would be Vlasic's choice .

IF you said safe but with still upside plus the physical jam to go with the scoribg then as I want they would draft Brady Martin who I think now goes 4-7range I this draft ...Martin said only 4 teams took hom to dinner at the combine...those teams were Utah,Nashville Philadelphia and Boston...
But Hawks are "playing it safe "
safe" with Frondell?

As if Marton is not a safe fire NHLer too and coukd help any line with his sfyke whether he pkays C or W..plus you get the uber compete and physicality.

I just do not get KD if he picks Frobdell.

ODrsnoyers is a sFe eve better defebsive C than Frondell with better transition game ..but perhaps the lean body needing to fill out is 30 lbs less than what Frkndell is at with his weight and so Frobdelk is closer to beibg pro ready?I guess tgat is it.

Tgevotger hostcsaid hexwoujd take Martone(also pro ready at his size and weight) and I guess he sees a better fit t for helping Bedard as Martine can make plays and set us...

Somebody above suggested they trade Kk to get Eklund earkyvtens..butcwe know Eklund will go tio ten so that is nit goibg tobgaooen unless we overpay lije Kk and #25..
Eklund we alk know drivectge okay playng iwith Frondell.
Frondell stunk at u18s and in fact went pointless in 15 ofvhis last 20GP of this season (including Alksvenskan and U18 games in that set of 20games).

This is the "safe" we are gonna bet on?

I am not saying Frondell will bust..butvthat he lacks elements I would want to add to the Hawks ...If Brady Martin only equals Frondell production level in the NHL it is all the extra he brings beyond just being safe that make hom more inpactful on games.

So if you want safe + more..KD shoukd in my opinion take Martin .Hawks will regret passing on Martin to draft Frondell. .

I do not think Frondell has the jam we need nor will he protect Bedard or Nazar fronabise .

Maybe I am wrong... but if Frondell actualky flops ...KD thinking safe could turn out so wrong..
 
Whoever Blackhawks take they have way more info about the player than we do here combined. And I´m pretty sure they´ll think what´s best for the Hawks. Yes I know this is a message board and it´s for changing and sharing ideas&opinions but I find it kind of amusing when someone thinks he knows better than Blackhawks amateur scouting staff together. If you don´t get KD´s pick (which is heavily influenced by Hawks scouts) it might be on you and not KD. I´m just saying.

Theres been a lot of talk about Frondell (our likely pick) being filled out already, but he looked pretty thin at the combine. That might be crazy to hear a 200 lb kid at 6’1”0.25 looking thin. I think he just has great genetics.

may birthday too, to think he's physically capped out is a piping hot take...Rinzel has room to grow, Bedard has room to grow, Korchinski has room to grow, but not Frondell...okay...

Fully agree with you. This post should display every time someone tries whining about the Hawks not taking whatever guy they’ve latched onto.
