Who should we pick 3rd overall (assuming Schaefer and Misa are gone)?

if you were admitting that plenty of people can be successful without having played the game then you were admitting that it is irrelevant that musto never played, too.

You can classify it as "context" but to an outsider it just sounds like you have a grudge.

I have no interest in this conversation. We are all amateurs in this analysis business and shouldn't pretend otherwise.
You took a small post of mine made as a relatively innocuous dig at Musto and turned it into a multi-post argument by extrapolating that post to something I never said. If there is anyone who has a grudge it’s you.

I know in the past Paul Goodman would give Davidson a pretty extensive rundown of how he thinks some prospects can develop physically. I recall them showing it a good bit in the every shift videos of the combine. Wonder what the plan is this year with Goodman gone now. Not sure if they have someone new yet

Good lord Korchinski has limited value.

If all it took was that bust and both first rounders to move to 1 that trade would have been made yesterday.

Korchinski is an AHL level talent.

I can see the Islanders GM "well, we got Hagens, and this other guy who cannot play defense in the NHL but will make our AHL team look good. Let me cook".....

If we do not move upto #1 OR do not move down a few spots from#3,and so STAY in place with our first 5 picks but then trade pick#98 and pick #162 to move back up into the mid 80s ,then this is how I woukd select in suchva scenario from a target list of likely orvhopefulky still available:

#3 Brady Martin C 6'0 186
#25 LW Bill Zonnon 6'2 190
#34 i) RW Mason West 6'6 215 *
or ii) RW Vaclav Nestrasil if West off the board.

#62 i) RD David Bedkowski 6"5 214
or ii)RD Oliver Turner 6'5 194 if Bedkowski
off the board..**

#66 i) Cooper Simpson LW 6'1 179
Ii) Hayden Paupanekis C 6'4 203 if Simpson
Is off the board.

mid 80s pick :( trade #98+ 162) for this a 80s pick::...in preference order if any remaining unpacked...

i) LD Brady Peddle 6'3 203
ii) RW Aidan Lane 6'2 192
Iii) Everett Baldwin 6'0 174

Now, Trade #107and #194 for a late 80s pick...

I) if a . goalie target still on the board then use this pick to take a goalie****

Jack Ivankovic coukd fall to this range dueto hos small isze ...or Russian goalie coukd fall due to size too...Maybe other goalies expected to go 15-20 spot xearlier than late 80s are still on the board..so this could bea spit to take a goalie to develop.

IiF no goalie remaining the board is enticing late 80s from our trade, then back to position players:

i) LD Maddox Labre 6'2 179
Ii) C Nathan Quinn 5'10 163

Quinn who plays for Quebec inthe QMJHL is small Now but he is a late August 2097 birthdatev so lotsof and he still could spurt..his father is 6'5..but he can skate ...getsto the midflecslot and has skills..Potebtial if he can get bigger and heavier.(Steal pick if he gets bigger)?

Labre played on a bad Victoriaville team i the Q..but tge EP scouts like this under the cadar dman.

* I debated whether to go as high as #25 for Mason West but realizing despite the intriguing projection given the size and skating and what shoukd be improved skills from next stage es of development now that hevis committed to hockey as his 1 sport (he will playfootball for his Senior year at Edina High School in tge fall but once thatvis over he is committed to hockey thereafter for his career in sports and will develop his raw talent and honevthecdetauks in College forca few years before leaving for the pros...So I think seeing Elite Orosprcys still ranks hom only at #46 given a gamble the raw tools and athleticism and goidxskating will add details and full physical use of hisvlarge body to emerge in a fewcyearsxto sonethibgvsoecial
...but yeah whikectgerevisxa chance somebody gambles on hom earlier in the first round, more likely to be taken in early to mid 40s in roubd 2,given team woukd bectakibg a swing that his game alk comes together.. So a longercterm 3-4year project and so I think #34 is the high-spot tak him early 2nd...but I coukd becwrongandxa kate first team could take that swing earlier than#34..including SJ at #33..
SO I admit I am not sure if Hawks woukd govexas hoghas #25to get him..If still there at #34 a definite yes on the big swing.

If he is off before #34 then hoping Vaclav Nrstrasil still there and we take the big power forward.

If both off tge biard at #34 then Maybe take best goalie off the board. I don't think that is Ravebsbergen...Goalies always a gamble...Scouts love Frolov from Russia but his save% does not seem to match the athleticism.

I will leave picking best goalievoption in a scenario where both big REs West and Nrstrasil already off before #34.

Maybe justvselect next targets I have #62 and#66..

** Oliver Turner wiukd be going a lot highervthan consensus if taken in the 62 ndorv77th pick...buthe isxa goidxsjater with 4xway mobility and goodc2 way potential ...Will be going to Colgate in the NCAa..I think KD would like the things he uses in his game.. another under the radar who ticks the skating box KD likes but has many attractive elements in his game...defensively hisxskatibgvakkowschim to smother and stay with opponents..offensively itslloeschom to jump into the attack ...physical.. rangy dman with good abilities...maybe not much scorong but tge mobility can move tgevouck up ice..
Hardctonknowvifvhe develops into a steal but foundation there for at least goidc3rdvpair dman with a lot to like.
The RD I have ahead of him is an older Decenber 2006 ,David Bedkowski ...but heviscamean nasty physical punishing dman..

As you knowxI want more JAM on the Hawks..he coukd add that as a 3RD to round out Rinzel and LEV..

WE need nasty.

As you see I havevidentifiedxaxlotvofcsizey pkayers...Ironically Brady Martin at#3is only 6'0 186 ..but hitsvlijev6'4 240 ..

We want jam boys. Are you listening KD???

Timeline is similar to the 00s Hawks, but they got Kane in 2003 instead of 2007.
Think about where the Hawks were coming out of the lockout.
They should be crawling out in 27-28. Still 2-3 more years of pain.
Don't make me tap the sign

KD is from Sudbury, he doesn't understand Newfi, me b'y.

So Frondell seems like the pick based on everything Ive seen huh. Would make sense, he's kind of like Levshunov as a forward, heavy, raw great physical tools with a questionable toolbox

Also why did we not get measurements for Desnoyers? Is he pulling a Quinn Hughes and avoided that on purpose
Sounds like he only did medicals and interviews because of his busted wrists.

that is not rocket science, anyone that studied Kinesiology and has personal training experience can do the same. There must be someone in the training dept that can do same, perhaps even Paul's successor

This turns me on

I hope no Potter.

5’9.75” low hockey IQ and perimetery
I don't feel that way about Potter.

I think the IQ is there. He's got good awareness on both ends.

And he uses his speed to cut inside, so I don't think he's all that perimetery.

At the very least, he's a highly explosive play driver with tons of skill. If you get that at 25, you're laughing all the way to the podium.

I think a chance Potter could be a better version of Moore, id take that at 25
