Who should we pick 3rd overall (assuming Schaefer and Misa are gone)?

I don't think taking guys out to dinner has anything to do with the pick leaking. They would take a few out to dinner as they have most years. What changed this year from years past to all of a sudden not spend the extra time with the prospects?
How many dinners can you fit in an evening? 3?

That shows favoritism toward 3 prospects.

If Hagens goes 1st, do you think Kyle has the composure not to laugh?
Hagens is not a bad prospect, he's not far behind Misa, and could pass him eventually with time. But I get your schtick.

His play in the 2nd half wasn't the best, but I saw a few games where he set Leonard up well, with no finish. It also seemed like Perrault and Leonard were selfish with the puck a lot too. I think he'd work well with Bedard as a 1-2 punch.

Interesting quotes from Ben Popes new interview with Kyle Davidson.

“People around the league have speculated Martone might not interest the Hawks because his subpar skating and inconsistent play don’t fit their recent track record of focusing on elite skaters with high work ethic. But Davidson suggested he might diversify what he’s looking for this year.

‘‘We do have a lot of players that are similar in their strengths,’’ he said. ‘‘In some respects, I think that’s how you build identity. In others, you can bring in players — if you’ve got enough [already] — that it’s not going to take away from the core strength of your team. So you can bring players in that have a different skill set, that are more of a complementary piece. That’s definitely something we’re considering.’’

Davidson also emphasized the Hawks definitively view Bedard and Frank Nazar as NHL centers — they’re not considering moving one to the wing — so a prospect’s likelihood of being able to play center in the future doesn’t matter much to them. That might most affect Desnoyers, who is considered the truest center of the bunch.”

Davidson said Thursday — after a long day of interviewing prospects — that the Hawks’ internal rankings aren’t finalized yet, whereas they were at this point in 2023 and 2024.
Even I'm going to finalize my rankings next week

Kyle is slacking smh

Great, then take Martone.

If we can get more "rock em" =Martin,Zonnon,West Vansaggi then that us tge JAM to our sift peanut butter forward group...Make it so JD...let PHI get the #3 and possibly chose wrong ..I will goto war with Brady Martinat#6 then the rest as outlined.
That’s what I’ve been saying for weeks. Chunky peanut butter > smooth.
People saying I hate drafting 3rd as if Misa is miles ahead of the other possible selections in this draft, I just dont think thats the case, at all.
Personally I see him as a seguin level #2 pick and that was a bad draft too so he could end up a lot better than the rest.

I'd be pretty damn happy if Martin and Bear were Hawks.

Both are guys you covet in the playoffs.

If Martin is their guy then by all means, pick him. But, if you're picking him at #3, then you damn well better be convinced he's a top 6 forward. You also should be convinced he can put on the weight to be a physical disruptor at this level.

Myself, I still want Martone at 3. I think he can be a PPG 1st line RW. I'd like to trade up from 25 and take Lakovic. I really think he's going top a top 6 forward. I know he doesn't play "big guy" hockey, but he grew 5 inches in a short amount of time, so he's still figuring some things out.

If we don't trade up, I'd like Fiddler. I think there will still be some forwards with size at 34. I think Fiddler's combination of size, mobility, defensive awareness and physicality could make him a future shutdown Dman. We could always try to trade up from 34 if a forward is falling.

I hope to hear something interesting from Doneghey because Davidson keep saying the same shit without evaluating the players. All statements are smoke.

Reading the Blackhawks are considering two 5'10 players as two Centers 1-2 in the future, I simply cannot take it seriously.

The interesting tidbit is him saying center v wing won’t matter and that they will consider going outside of their normal criteria. (Paraphrasing a bit)

To me, this gives the idea of taking Martone some hope.

But if I’m betting my own money I’d say Desnoyers or Frondell.

"Davidson didn’t mention specific players on Thursday. But my educated guess is the Blackhawks look at Anton Frondell and Caleb Desnoyers with the third pick if Michael Misa is gone, or choose Misa if he’s available." This was the most interesting tidbit from Powers interview with Davidson.

My understanding of KD saying both Nazar and Bedard being centers is more of a confidence boost to them. If you sound skeptical on their future as centers, it might rub them the wrong way.

I believe KD wants as many centers as he can get with top end picks just in case some don’t workout. Just like Grier said for the Sharks, “You can never have too many centers”
