Im already all the way back to Martone.
Or jut a set of good eyes. Not real. That rumor came from a fake Frank Seravalli account. The exact reason verified social media accounts are so important.
I'll be disappointed if it's not him.Im already all the way back to Martone.
Would Islander's take Kevin Korchinski for a move from 1 to 3 ? Then we grab Schaefer . Not sure If Kyle would do that either .
I would in a heartbeat but doubtful Islanders wouldWould Islander's take Kevin Korchinski for a move from 1 to 3 ? Then we grab Schaefer . Not sure If Kyle would do that either .
I actually think theres a good chance San Jose takes Martone over Misa.I'll be disappointed if it's not him.
Yes I think your correct .Schaefer seems to be gaining momentum .Let the Sharks go all in , we are better off sitting this hand out .Yea we could have Misa fall in our laps .Still pondering what a slide down might look like , I really like Brady Martin upside doesn't seem as good as others)I think it would take a lot more than Korch + 3rd overall to move to 1st.
A LOT more.
FWIW, I've heard rumblings that SJ may be looking to move up from 2 to 1. That way they can ensure selecting Schaefer and Isles get 2nd overall + whatever else SJ may add and still get to take Hagens. I hope that's what plays out. In that case, welcome to the Windy City, Michael Misa.
Many shifts? Like a bull? I'm not sure who we is but I'm always skeptical when people speak for a group.Frondell is the only one in the top of the draft class who has had many shifts where he held his ground like a bull on skates from almost a standstill against older more developed competition. That's something we can verify. There's still a question about how much harder it is in the NHL, but he didn't do it juniors.
The big kids in juniors don't even need to play that way because they already have the advantage by nature of their being bigger than the other kids, they don't need that extra gear yet. Some will get that gear, some won't, predict that and you're hired!
I thought Kirby Dach would be much better in the hard areas, 150 games in dude was getting routinely bullied by guys 4 inches shorter.
I think that is a possibility, and I wouldn't be surprised. I am against throwing in Korchinski. Let's give him some time to realize his potential.I actually think theres a good chance San Jose takes Martone over Misa.
It took me less time to read War and Peace!Yes if course Hawks coukdctry to move up in a trade with NYI to get#1and take Misa...
Will tgectry be successful?
Misa seems lije tge very best solution for a 1C with a Bedard mlve to 1RW...
However if tgexattempt to move up fails then at #3there isxa wide variance ofvopibion as to who HWks shoukdctake at #3 for best fit and who actualky will turn out to be theBOA from alk those remaining candidates after Scarfer and Misa go off the board.
There is a difference of opinions to whether Martonevis #3on ternsvof eitger BPA or in terms of best fit for Bedard to form a top line duo..
Sone say Martone sone say Frondell even as a winger for Bedard at C
.
The problem with Frondell even if you thought hom BOA at #4is that there is a difference of opinions to whether he is glibg to be best atC or on the Wing as an NHL Oro..
Thise who think Frondell can be Center compare him to Barkov in styke..butvof course at j6'0 196 he is a lit smaller than Barkov..They do describe a 200ft player neither of whom are soordstersbut very mature responsible checkers and boards dominator..POWER Centers..Exceot that sone doubt Frondell is at his bestxasxa Cebter and had hid best goes thisxseasonbontgexwibg.
However you also get the inconsistency problems to explain with Frondrll..Some stretches looks fantastic other stretches pkays poorly...example was his piurcfinish to his seadon..Got benched forcsobe games Akksvebskan finals playoffs ..Was not good at u18s.....andxatvu18sxon the eye test looked SLOW to me.
Sobe scoutibg reports criticize his lack of speed causing a lack of transition transporting the puck or keeping up forc2 on1s..So hokes in his game and sone consistency issues.
Sonecsvoutsxprojectvhecwill improve abd can reach a high cekibgvas a top 2 line pro...But sone think the lack of speed might make him only a 3rd line for giuy.
Hagens is still #3on many lists as BOA..butvis a poir fit for ChicGo ..=anotger smalk C? No way...
However sone scouts do not think hevis best pkayer avaikavlexat#3givenhevubderwhelmed to the hypechexwas raised to beforectgexseason as the#1or#2BOA of the draft. So to many rankers he drops several spotsxto #5 ...in any case hevis notctgecright fit for need forctge Blackhawks..Nedc more size more powrr more jam combined with talent to either help Bedard as his wibger or drive a tip libevirc2ndvkibexat Cebter
So as I said before KD I doubt can identify the BPA...too much difference of opinion for tgatxat#3
So then best fit for need conesvibto pkay and among the candidates ates from 3-7 the choice is:
.Best fit for Bedard at wing OR best fit to drive line 1 at C with Bedard on the wing.
A lot of talk of Desnoyers as a 200ft cebter need for either linec1 or kibec2..but he fizxledvin ladtx10HP ..Wentv9 games without a goal before finally scoribg a goal (akso hadx1a) in Moncton' 's seni-fibal eliminations Memorial Cup.
Dresnoyers also -7last 10GP...However repirtsxibdicate hecwas pkayibgvthrough an injury..so maybecduscard poircshowibgvladt 10GP strecth.
Drsnoyers does not alert himself in games but let's the game conecto hom..Therexare havitsctovlije but also questionsvon his ceiling production potential..
Might only be a Toews..whichvis goid ..but I do not knowvifca Tiews like player isxa oerfect got for Bedard as hus wibger. MAY want a better playmaker to get Bedard to reveal his Geberatuonzl shot .
Given that sone think Frobdelk will be a better winger than Cebter or onlyva shoot first cebter,he may not be ideal for Bedard in a duobeotger.
Do notvybonk Drsnoyerviscthat much of avpkaynsker either.
Brst fits might be Martione as the playmaker winger to set up a Bedard playing center ...Or maybe best fit of all=Jake O'brien who has the furthest development yet to come but a long runway because of his June 2007 birthdate...many scouts think he has the highest ceiling of any pure Center in the draft ...Had a 98 point regukar season with Brantford ..it was heavily PP skewed (49/98 points) so obviously you want to see a higher Even strength production effectiveness...but although hevpayed top minutes inalienable situation roles for Brantford getting PO1 and PK1 tine,he was not their top line C ,only played with Lardis on tge Po exceot for a few limited loading up Eveb Strentgh situations occaisiobal...soUFAUR to compare him to alk other candidates for #3who were on the top line with other top line pkayers for their teams.
What you now must do is PROJECT the production O'brien could put up this coming season in Brantford because hecwill becone tgeir go to 1C and will need to pick up more ES scoribg andvuo his goal scoribg. You havecto project if he can up his love volume shotvon goal rate(because hexwas so pass first)..but now as the go to line 1C I think you will see a more rounded offebsivecgame from hom and that he will shoot more He does havexacgoitcshotcandxa very high sgotceffixiency.so the shotvitself nit the unused.. the volume of shot attempts and shotsvob goal is what you want to see him up..finally
Martone coukd be more ready to jump right into the NHL than O'Brien if tgeycsee Brdard staying at Center and wanting immediate help to set up Bedard for his shot.
O"brien needs to get more mass onto his 6'2172 lb frame...Till he adds 20 lbs or more he probably is not ready for tge NHL.
So eve though he has maybe highest ceiling in terms of driving a top line and producing big starvpibts...he i s further away from that because he needscto get more weight bones and to work on improving soneareas . While not a burner in speed,he has akready improved skatibgvfron the level itcwas at start of thecseason..butcas he gets stronger and working on his skatibg more,I think he will be good enough to advance attacks with ouckbtrabspirt from d-zobevt o o-zone ..His 200 ft game is goidvin habits bit if he gets justca bit faster and keeps improving o n reafsxofvthe play he shoukd be fine.
Put it yhusxway..a long runway yet to improve but tgexwait on hon to get to his top level will pay big dividends for tge team waiting for the matured version hecwillbe.
He already is tge best oassser andvonevof tge best playmaker I tgexdtaft..thses skikksxare ELITE...
So you can projectca fit to set up Bedard..If he adds the take charge go tov1C and uos his own shot on goal rate combining both passing gand shoitibgvmajez hom a very orojectible star 1C ..
So for this potential high ceiling,My hunch is that KD if he cannot land Misa in a trade up or gets lucky with NYI and SJ bypassing Misa ,coukd go with this high potential with Jake O'brien as the #3pick.
The issueis how long a wait fo r O'brien to get that extra 15-25lbs on?
I expect over the Sumner he adds another 10lbs to his frame and by start of 26/27 he will be up in tge 190s if not a 290lb pkayer...So Maybe just wait 1cmire season on hom.
Martone may be ready to help this season I tge Show. BUTas with any rookie, the question is can he take tge pressure to produce o libe 1 and be tge perfect fot for Bedard?
Maybe KD buys time by adding a free agent winger thus summer and Martone starts lower i the lineup.. but at least this season Hawks have
sone 2nd and 3rd kube centers who Martone could playmaker for from the wing.
So maybe a question of immediate "help" or waiting till draft prospect at#3is fukky "ready" for a top line role.
Finally the Longshot (at#3)RIser ,Brady Martin.
Doubt KD as with most ranking lists ,probably does not have homas a#3candidate..
But looking backin 3 -4years he very well coukd be themostvimoortantvpkayer for a team drafting him and rspecislky when that team rises to payoff contender level.
Coukd be the best pick of any in overall impact helping any libe he pays on doninate shifts and tilt thecce with scoribg chances in a variety of ways...a unique combo of physical play, comoetexand hogh work habits plus goidxsjilk in scoribg and in setting-up teamates off his hardvon thebluck forechecks, check stops, abd back checks...Tgextemotation is forcsobe coach to maybevjustc3rd kinevjominti a more checking kunecrike..but he is a 2C for his team.. Tge Soo were a bad team ...little talent around hom..With better players his assists rate showscuo pretty good as atc u18s.. He does have a good wrist shot that beats goalies picking corners and in 1x1 on break-aways...though his high shot on goal rate (2nd only to Misa among al the #3 candidates)produced a lowr shooting % than the others under consideration for #3.
He shows up only has high as #6n a fewvkists now...but he brings morectobtgectabke than just straight production given tte compete level off tge chartsxand the physicality elements..the jam insertion Hawks can use.
Still. I THiNK willinstead go for the hIgher production targets. MARTONE or O'BRIEN and not give MARTIN an adjustment up factor due to playing on a bad team in the Soo with little help to get Martin more points.
So whichever team gets Martin ( maybe at #6 or#7 ?) they will get a very good Hockey Payer with at minimum a high high floor 2nd line role who will become loved by that team's fans and coaches ...high passion, consistent hard work ethic /comote and contributing a good level of poibts.. 30 g 40a=70 pts guy to raise 2nd line as 2C..
However KD will try fortis line 85-100pts ceiling talent ...maybe Martone as set up winger for Brdard gets there if Bedard gets there as tgey forn a duo?
.
Or maybe they go with O'BRIEN as 1C for Bedard at 1RW and as a top line duo they get to tgatv85-100 point level each?
I think 1 of these 2 as role fits to help Bedard is where KD is targeting of he cannot move up in a trade to land Misa. .
Sure, but people don't pay attention to shit. We've known this for forever.Or jut a set of good eyes.
Many shifts? Like a bull? I'm not sure who we is but I'm always skeptical when people speak for a group.
I've watched at least 4 full games of Frondell in Allsvenskan play and never came away thinking he was some type of player you describe in that 1st paragraph. Can he withstand the physical rigors of NHL playoff hockey? I believe so.
I have zero problem if he's the 3rd pick and see him as a possible #1 PP unit guy and top 6 winger. Same for Martone.
Before even contemplating taking Lakovic, the Hawks would need to conduct a thorough investigation of the off ice incident that lead to him and three teammates being suspended back in 2023.Strome has elite IQ. Very high end playmaker.
With Dach, I really liked his finesse game as a prospect and I thought he was very physical in the WHL playoffs. Being rushed to the NHL and being made of glass probably stopped him from being physical.
With Lakovic there are less traits that I'm impressed with that would make me overlook his softness. I get why people like him, but I don't find he has the easiest projection.
Korchinski is becoming a bit of a nasty player in the corners. Elite skating, lengthy, great vision. Can't risk not giving him more time to develop his defense and decision making to become a top pair guy.I think that is a possibility, and I wouldn't be surprised. I am against throwing in Korchinski. Let's give him some time to realize his potential.
Totally agree... Can he even get served in a bar yet ? I mean...let's embrace our inner gardenersKorchinski is becoming a bit of a nasty player in the corners. Elite skating, lengthy, great vision. Can't risk not giving him more time to develop his defense and decision making to become a top pair guy.
But it does make a LOT of sense that San Jose would really like to get Schaefer and have the assets between 8 picks in the first 2 round over the next 2 drafts and a deep prospect pool if NYI like Misa as (or about as) much as Schaefer or really want the hometown boy. San Jose without Schaefer and Misa/Martone instead has their under 25 pool of talent heavily schewed toward forward and real light on D.the SJ rumor started because pagnotta said on a show that he thought they would not that he heard they would.
By "we" I mean everyone can see he played a big game in an actual men's league. Not that I'm "speaking for groups."
Literally his first shift..
He gets around Lindgren (23 years old) using his body, wins his puck, backs Lindgren off under pressure, keeps the puck, continues to back off Lindgren's check, moves the puck on the wall. Comes back, reads the pressure that they're going to get puck out of the zone, knocks the puck off the guys stick and plays his body to keep it in the zone.
Again, his first shift, lol.
If you don't see that I can't help you. Dude is 17 coming off 6 months of no hockey between 16/17 playing like that.
Korchinski is becoming a bit of a nasty player in the corners. Elite skating, lengthy, great vision. Can't risk not giving him more time to develop his defense and decision making to become a top pair guy.
I've watched that game. If that constitues many shifts, lol. Against a 180 lbs dman, lol.
You obviously missed my "Can he withstand the physical rigors of NHL playoff hockey? I believe so" comment.
While your at it, go to the 2:35 of the same video and let me know what happens in that board battle with the 5'9", 176 lbs dman. Frondell certainly doesn't win the puck
A classic case of a strawman argument. The best in the world don't win every battle. The fact is he's using his frame to create space, win pucks, keep off checking in a men's league and is successful enough to keep playing that way. It's an integral part of his game. If you don't think a 17 year old using his frame like that and being successful is a bull in today's game then mmkay.
I am hopeful that happens. Schaeffer, Misa or trade the pickI actually think theres a good chance San Jose takes Martone over Misa.
I think one of the potential issues (outside of the biggest issue, which is that the first pick practically never getting traded in the NHL), is that it could be a bit of a prisoner's dilemma situation if SJ and Chicago both see it as possible that they get what they want for free if the other team blinks first. But it does make a LOT of sense that San Jose would really like to get Schaefer and have the assets between 8 picks in the first 2 round over the next 2 drafts and a deep prospect pool if NYI like Misa as (or about as) much as Schaefer or really want the hometown boy. San Jose without Schaefer and Misa/Martone instead has their under 25 pool of talent heavily schewed toward forward and real light on D.
This MIGHT be a draft where we see some movement at the top, simply because the Hawks/San Jose needs don't seem to lineup with how the board is setting up and NYI are playing with house money and may view ending up with the hometown boy projected for a time to be the #1 guy for this draft and a couple of good assets to move down as a better move.
Betting San Jose and Chicago would each give NYI the Toronto/Dallas 1st rounders and maybe another small add to move up a spot and not think twice.
Yes...but is there a Carlsson in the picture ?I don't expect Misa to drop. He likely doesn't drop.
But I didn't think Fantilli would drop to 3rd two years ago. I didn't think Wright would drop to 4th three years ago. It can happen.
Just don't expect it to.
