FWIW, I've heard rumblings that SJ may be looking to move up from 2 to 1. That way they can ensure selecting Schaefer and Isles get 2nd overall + whatever else SJ may add and still get to take Hagens. I hope that's what plays out. In that case, welcome to the Windy City, Michael Misa.

Yes I think your correct .Schaefer seems to be gaining momentum .Let the Sharks go all in , we are better off sitting this hand out .Yea we could have Misa fall in our laps .Still pondering what a slide down might look like , I really like Brady Martin upside doesn't seem as good as others)

I've watched at least 4 full games of Frondell in Allsvenskan play and never came away thinking he was some type of player you describe in that 1st paragraph. Can he withstand the physical rigors of NHL playoff hockey? I believe so.
I have zero problem if he's the 3rd pick and see him as a possible #1 PP unit guy and top 6 winger. Same for Martone.

He gets around Lindgren (23 years old) using his body, wins his puck, backs Lindgren off under pressure, keeps the puck, continues to back off Lindgren's check, moves the puck on the wall. Comes back, reads the pressure that they're going to get puck out of the zone, knocks the puck off the guys stick and plays his body to keep it in the zone.
Again, his first shift, lol.
If you don't see that I can't help you. Dude is 17 coming off 6 months of no hockey between 16/17 playing like that.

Before even contemplating taking Lakovic, the Hawks would need to conduct a thorough investigation of the off ice incident that lead to him and three teammates being suspended back in 2023.
Perhaps it was just a case of a young, immature kid doing something stupid and hopefully harmless but I would need to be sure that is the case before I invested a high pick in him.

Korchinski is becoming a bit of a nasty player in the corners. Elite skating, lengthy, great vision. Can't risk not giving him more time to develop his defense and decision making to become a top pair guy.

Totally agree... Can he even get served in a bar yet ? I mean...let's embrace our inner gardeners
and allow him with guidance and coaching to put it all together. I love our blueline going forward
and feel he is a big part of that.
But it does make a LOT of sense that San Jose would really like to get Schaefer and have the assets between 8 picks in the first 2 round over the next 2 drafts and a deep prospect pool if NYI like Misa as (or about as) much as Schaefer or really want the hometown boy. San Jose without Schaefer and Misa/Martone instead has their under 25 pool of talent heavily schewed toward forward and real light on D.
This MIGHT be a draft where we see some movement at the top, simply because the Hawks/San Jose needs don't seem to lineup with how the board is setting up and NYI are playing with house money and may view ending up with the hometown boy projected for a time to be the #1 guy for this draft and a couple of good assets to move down as a better move.
Betting San Jose and Chicago would each give NYI the Toronto/Dallas 1st rounders and maybe another small add to move up a spot and not think twice.

Yeah, a lot of time's when he gets flack on a defensive play he's doing the right thing, he just can't execute it yet. One shift we got scored on around the paint Korch was pushing the forward trying to knock him off balance, but Korch just kind of bounced off him, lol.

The best in the world don't win every battle. The fact is he's using his frame to create space, win pucks, keep off checking in a men's league and is successful enough to keep playing that way. It's an integral part of his game. If you don't think a 17 year old using his frame like that and being successful is a bull in today's game then mmkay.

I think one of the potential issues (outside of the biggest issue, which is that the first pick practically never getting traded in the NHL), is that it could be a bit of a prisoner's dilemma situation if SJ and Chicago both see it as possible that they get what they want for free if the other team blinks first.
I.e., If SJ thinks Chicago would take Misa at first, and Chicago trades for the first, then SJ would get Schaefer without giving up any resources. Similarly, if Chicago thinks NY would take Hagens at second, and SJ trades for the first, then Chicago would get Misa without giving up anything. So it would potentially be better for all if everyone 'cooperated' to get who they wanted, but if only one team between SJ and Chicago 'cooperates' than the other team gets an even better deal. Which might make it harder to make a three-way trade happen.
