Can't remember if it was Zawaski pod or the one with Pat Boyle, but there was a draft person on that talked about Martone maybe not having the desire to play a heavy game all the time, is that a consensus view?

Yeah that's consensus.

He's not a power forward like some claim he is. And he's not a high motor, high pace, high intensity player. But he can be, he does it at times, but it's just not consistent.

I believe this will be ironed out in college, where he'll be forced to elevate in that way to succeed at that level, and he'll have to continue to do so in the NHL. I already hear Blashill talking about things like that, so provided he practices what he preaches, that's the type of coach that will hold Martone accountable.

So I see a trajectory for him, and for the Hawks, where he works out his deficiencies. The path is laid out, he just needs to put in the work, and by all accounts he's a very committed player.

Mock me if you want, but it's both funny and sad that in a thread discussing what will be a critical pick in the Hawks rebuild, people are placing any importance at all in whether or not any of the picks will drop the gloves.
I don't think anyone is calling it vital to fight.

They just want to make sure the guy they get at 3 isn't the type to fold like some of the Leafs diva core.

Desnoyers isn’t afraid to get in the scrums. He can hit as well. He’s going to be hard to play against when he fills out.He could end up 6’3 and 200 lbs with good training and nutrition.Still thinking him and Boisvert could be very tough to play against.

Why is it that you guys require me to begin every sentence with "in my opinion" ?

Everything I say is an opinion, unless I'm citing someone else

It's not that hard to understand

You dont have to do that but maybe you should think how you word sentences a little bit more shades of gray and not as black and white.

Like you like to say "he will never be NHL player" or "he will be third liner at most" or "this player will be generational" etc.

Also when you present evaluation maybe tone down with the lies (bad for not your guys, good for your guys)and made up stuff.

Just a thought, maybe think about it.?

Yeah he reminds me of my ex girlfriend in some ways.

Just wait for 2 days before when someone we mostly ignored and didnt talk about becomes the rumored guy like with the Dach draft.

I checked out on following Dach at least when he was seen as the worst skater of the likely picks... which wasn't fair to him, it was true but he is a fine skater, when hes not running into hits.

But I spent that draft souring on Bynam because he didnt seem like a future #1, Turcotte was my guy, until I realized in all his goal videos he has zero goals from a shot outside the crease. Zero. He drove the net but had no shot(same with Podz) and Cozens i saw questions of his IQ. I think this month will just be nitpick fatigue if you keep at it.
