Who should we pick 3rd overall (assuming Schaefer and Misa are gone)?

Misa is the ideal pick, but the chances of that happening is pretty slim. It is probably coming down to a 3 horse race between Hagens, Martone and Frondell.

I think Desnoyers has probably played his way out of consideration for number 3 pick with the Memorial Cup. He never stands out particularly well to me when he goes up against competition outside of the QMJHL (which has gotten really weak as a junior league recently)

I think the big assumption with him and his recent performance is that he's likely been playing injured for most of the playoffs. Definitely something that you can expect Hawks management to inquire with him about in the interview process.

I think after Schaefer/Misa, every guy available has something wrong with him that makes you question picking them.

This is true, but I think Martone's issue is such an easy thing that'll get ironed out in college.

And he's probably a one and done, as well, so you might get him for the last couple games of the season and then he's in Blashill's hands.

Now that West has chose hockey over football I would consider him at both 25 and 34. It would kinda be hilarious if we end up picking projects that turn out great with 2 leafs firsts both at 25 overall with Rinzel and West. He is gonna go to USHL for next year and take his time in college as well but the payoff could be pretty big.

A 3 game sample size is not enough for someone to “play” their way down the board. Craig Button strongly hinted last night that he’s been dealing with a wrist issue for a couple of weeks now too.

I don’t think it’s fair to suggest he’s been poor outside of the QMJHL either. He’s been a key contributor to gold medal winning Canadian teams at several events

Well it’s not like he was some locked in number 3 prospect previously either

I really just feel like picking anyone other than Martone is a galaxy brain move.

You have to do mental gymnastics to justify passing on the 6'3" elite IQ captain that scored 100 points in the best Canadian junior league, and has earned the trust of Team Canada's men's team.

When you lay it all out like that... even a toddler would make the right pick.
Big bodied player who plays soft is he Dylan Strome 2.0?

Wonder how the Sharks Coach liked him ? He still might be Sharks pick .

Misa has no shoulders. I think he will be a frustrating perimeter player in the NHL---he'll get his points, but I don't think there's room for him and Bedard. I hope he goes before the Hawks select, but then again, I hope the Hawks move the 3rd pick too.

I could see Chicago going off book and picking Martone and then immediately returning to their script (draft pick giveaway extravaganza) to get Potter.
