Desnoyers as well.Misa is the ideal pick, but the chances of that happening is pretty slim. It is probably coming down to a 3 horse race between Hagens, Martone and Frondell.
I think the big assumption with him and his recent performance is that he's likely been playing injured for most of the playoffs. Definitely something that you can expect Hawks management to inquire with him about in the interview process.I think Desnoyers has probably played his way out of consideration for number 3 pick with the Memorial Cup. He never stands out particularly well to me when he goes up against competition outside of the QMJHL (which has gotten really weak as a junior league recently)
This is true, but I think Martone's issue is such an easy thing that'll get ironed out in college.I think after Schaefer/Misa, every guy available has something wrong with him that makes you question picking them.

A 3 game sample size is not enough for someone to “play” their way down the board. Craig Button strongly hinted last night that he’s been dealing with a wrist issue for a couple of weeks now too.I think Desnoyers has probably played his way out of consideration for number 3 pick with the Memorial Cup. Well it’s not like he was some locked in number 3 prospect previously eitherA 3 game sample size is not enough for someone to “play” their way down the board. Craig Button strongly hinted last night that he’s been dealing with a wrist issue for a couple of weeks now too.
I don’t think it’s fair to suggest he’s been poor outside of the QMJHL either. He’s been a key contributor to gold medal winning Canadian teams at several events
Big bodied player who plays soft is he Dylan Strome 2.0?I really just feel like picking anyone other than Martone is a galaxy brain move.
You have to do mental gymnastics to justify passing on the 6'3" elite IQ captain that scored 100 points in the best Canadian junior league, and has earned the trust of Team Canada's men's team.
When you lay it all out like that... even a toddler would make the right pick.
Sure. But he’s absolutely worked his way into the conversation. Taking him out of it because of 3 games (while playing hurt) is way too reactionary and impulsiveWell it’s not like he was some locked in number 3 prospect previously either
unfortunately he's not generationalBig bodied player who plays soft is he Dylan Strome 2.0?
I have read that over and over in scouting of him. That concerns me some, and is his bugaboo. Frondell has his as does Desnoyers. I am assuming they pick Frondell.Big bodied player who plays soft is he Dylan Strome 2.0?
Wonder how the Sharks Coach liked him ? He still might be Sharks pick .This is true, but I think Martone's issue is such an easy thing that'll get ironed out in college.
And he's probably a one and done, as well, so you might get him for the last couple games of the season and then he's in Blashill's hands.

This.He goes into the corners, drops the gloves, does his damage down low and around the net. So...not really.
Drops the gloves but can't fight. He goes into the corners, drops the gloves, does his damage down low and around the net. So...not really.
He's not a power forward. He's just not afraid of physicality like some other guys are.Drops the gloves but can't fight.
Getting your clock cleaned by Misa ain't scaring anybody in the nhl.....
Ignoring that slight against God himself, yeah I do think Martone and Hagens are the braindead easy choices.Martone isn't a power forward but he's a far cry from the Charmin softness of Strome. I want him or Hagens.
Never said he was. He's not a power forward.
I could see Chicago going off book and picking Martone and then immediately returning to their script (draft pick giveaway extravaganza) to get Potter.
62nd pick…Dallas had the best regular season record out of the final four teams…So Dallas got the boot , this means we pick 61st ?
