2025 NHL DRAFT Thread

Who should we pick 3rd overall (assuming Schaefer and Misa are gone)?

They must regret not making that trade or not picking another player, its not like the injuries started after the selection, they knew about it and still did it
F*** them kids.

It's such a mish mash of talent this year I dont think its crazy to consider at least listening to the Islander about the 3rd overall for an unprotected 1st next year , a couple 2nd's and a decent prospect and possibly a decent cap dump all in a package . Next years draft is pretty well thought of ,and nobody helps the Blackhawks this year anyway from 2025 draft .

You’re probably right. At least keep on point. Debate the players spot on a list is possible without hurling personal insults at a lists creator
Another alternative would be to bump his rage posts on the Vlasic, Boisvert, and Del Mastro draft threads. Even if he changed his tune its still genuinely hilarious

Thats the problem you cant have honest good faith discussion with Musto. He will make stuff up, even straight up lie to make his guys look better.

When questioned about his outlandis statements he will resort to insults as well while trying to discredit others.

When caught up in making up stuff or lying he will just ignore every thing and wont respond like nothing happened.

Also he likes to discredit professional for making mistakes but never takes responsibility for his own. When asked about it he will just deny deflect or ignore.

But I guess that normal!?

I’ve seen him do a lot of this and think it’s mostly a fair critic, but I don’t know if I’ve seen him resort to personal insults.

He’s over the top sometimes, but I don’t think he attacks people on here even when he’s taking arrows.

Not all the time of course but dont think people are calling him names all the time too.

Unless NYI go full tank mode, trading Barzal and Dobson, I can't imagine their 2026 1st will be much lower than where they finished this season

type of trade that can get you fired...Isles always seem to be more competitive than their roster suggests they should be

Cristall spent way more time on the perimeter in his draft year than Reschny.
Why are you the second person to make a comment like this?

One feature of a player doesn't erase everything else.

Cristall is elite. Reschny isn't.

Brendan Gallagher spends lots of time on the inside. Doesn't mean I'd take him over Mathew Barzal who spends a lot of time on the outside.

Because your qualifier for saying he wouldn't be a hot commodity and thinking that he'd slip to the 2nd round was that he's a "short perimeter player", which was a far better description of Cristall than Reschny.

It's funny how you just toss "elite" around for the guys you like.

Reschny and Cristall's DY side-by-side

PlayerGames PlayedGoalsPointsPpG
Reschny6226921.48
Cristall5439951.75

Cristall in 9 career playoff games prior to being drafted: 1 goal, 5 points.

Reschny in 16 career playoff games prior to being drafted: 10 goals, 27 points.

One is "elite" while the other is not apparently.

Find me a reputable scout that is ranking Reschny in the top 10

What would it take to trade up for Viktor Eklund or Brady Martin and take Frondell at 3...Toronto's 1st+34? you'd have a lot of optionality depending on what works best

I mean , would you be happy if we traded a top 10 pick for 25 and 34?
