my thing with Martone, from what I have read, seems not physical for his size, not fast at decision making, doesn't track back very hard at times on D, mediocre skating. Some items can be improved but seems a bit like Dach 2.0 from afar.

He's not that physical, no, but he can throw his weight around from time to time. Not sure where the slow decision making thing comes from, and the mediocre skating thing is false.

It seems like every year these top prospects are over scouted at some point. Martone was considered at some point challenging for number one pick. After poor performance at U20´s (where he barely played) he became to slide. And before you know it he can´t skate, decision making is low and isn´t physical at all. I guess the truth lies somewhere between. Let´s not forget that he ain´t finished product either. Potential is appealing.

Martone has the highest IQ in the draft.

O'brien has a long runway as a relatively young June 2007 birth date plus he playedvonlyv2nd line (2C) though on Pp1 for Brantford. OR IF He pllayed on the top line woth Lardis in Brantford?Or if he played on the too line in London.. Or even played with just a decent team with sone more help lije Martibe had I Brampton or Misa had in Saginaw?

I do not know if he has a higher ceiling from more development..but tge level he already plays at for compete,work ethic,physicality is off the charts..coupled with his oro shot and at least average passing skill plus 200 ft 2 wY pkay,the level he pkaysxat SCREAMs NHL pro . You want this guy i tour top six forwards if for no other reason than the work example he will set for the other 5...insoribg them..teaching them to want it more...He Also will act a a derterent if tgevoposxwosh to take liberties on our smaller skilled forwards like Bedard and Nazar.

This is why Martin Ought to be considered for e the #3too..

He can't be a "bad fit"..Will be a great fit ...for any team takibg hom..

Defense to offense..the way play Desnoyers gives you..just add weightcand more strength to his lanky 6'2frame..

O'brien..again needs add bulk to his 6'2 frame ...add a bit more explosion to his skating and get a bit better in defensive zone reads...Butgiven his relative youth you expect hom to take off into the stratospehere next season in Brantford...certainly not NHL ready..has not yet reached his Jr celing...

Iam not sure Hagens or Maroine get any better..they are old for this draft draft(2006 birthdates) and whike their production may be higher this season in colllege or Jr respectively,I do not see where they add much more talent than their level allready .

Desnoyers and O'brien I do seeing get to an hogher level ..Martin will get better merel playing with better talent..When he got that chance..at OHL Top Prospects challenge or at W- u18s...he shone and greatly impacted games when all the scouts'eyes on him in those heightened levels of competition.

Hard pass on O'Brien. Skating and shot are meh. Most of his points on PP and most of his assists were secondary. Martone and Desnoyers were way more productive 5x5 and both had much higher percentage in primary assists.

Desnoyers is a for sure center. I'd be fine with taking him. We need a f***ing sure fire center. Not sure I trust the Q much at this point, though.

I could see someone falling in love with him and taking him in the 10-14 range. I could also see people not liking the inconsistent play and him fall to our pick.
