So far I am underwhelmed by AntonFrondell at the workd u18s...other Swedes have been more impressive than him...He looks slow and does not transport tgevpuck from d-zone thru neutral zonecto tgebo-zone..once in the o-zobe he us ok ..but not donibatobg as O had thought hosxrankibg woukd suggest...In the D-zobe hevis like most swedes positiobalky responsible.. But it isctge lack of dynamism and lack of puck transport through the neutral zone that flaws him in my opinion sich that I cannot see his rank i a top 5....

So I think now it us slam dunk...Schafer at#1Nisa at#3..It willbe Martonecat #3though he too has some issues on notcalwaysxworking hard enough for his undisputed talent level.

After #3therexare Major issues with Frondell and HGens such as to create bad fots for the Hawks if they only drFt at #4.

MCQueen too risky due to injury concerns...doctors woukd have to sign off on homtp spiffy KD risk worth this g..

This it leaves the "safe" Desnoyers ..but his upside as an NHLer in question

I love how this kidvpjays tge game and impacts almost every shift he pkays..

Yes you woukdvlije better finish from his shot..but on everybotger aspect ,he just is terrific.He psses the eye test and screams ORO ..

A terrific rusher with the puck and can blow tgrough checks and around checks with speed and power
.Will get even strongerxas he filksbout.
I might just take hon off the biardxas hogh as #4 ..or trade down a fewxsots and still walk away hapoy.

I´m not worried at all about Frondell. Sure he hasn´t produced like you want to but you can see his high IQ there. Seems like he plays short shifts and that might tell that there is some kind of fatigue issues. But is responsible in his own end wins faceoffs and does all the little things really well. After all these four or five games in U18´s doesn´t dictate his potential. He has shown enough in Allsvenskan this season to be one of the top draft picks this year.

If Hawks pick fourth I say he should be considered but if the pick is between 1-3 I would look other way.

There are a lot of similarities how he plays but I wouldn´t expect him to be next Barkov at all.

Barkov was also build kind of heavy and his skating wasn´t that effective at first but he lost some weight to make his skating more dynamic. It was fifth year that he really made his breakout season. So Frondell has enough time to develop his shortcomings.

Was just on my way in here to ask the same thing after seeing the tweet.

Surprising to hear (if it’s true) that we’re high on Martone with him not being the best skater.

Frondell would be a very Davidson pick that would leave me entirely whelmed.

I mean depends on where they end up picking. If it’s two, then yeah sure. But I expect Musa to be the pick there.

But if the pick is 4, then it’s entirely reasonable. The draft isn’t deep and it’s not like there are guys who have sky high potential behind him waiting to be drafted.

I believe Craig Button was first to compare Frondell with Barkov.

Personally I think he’s more of Draisaitl/Kopitar hybrid but from wish.

And I don’t think it’s a big brain move. Think he’s more likely than not to go top4 as of now. According to Makenzie’s latest ranking he’s four and in the latest The Athletic episode they talked about how high teams think of him.

I don’t recall Barkov like that. liiga was better then and he put up big numbers.

I don’t think Frondell is anything like him either. Frondell likes to hit and plays more like a volume shooting wing. Not sure what Craig is watching

He was coming off the most points by a u18 player in Liga history and was two weeks from being eligible for the 2014 draft. I don't remember him being vanilla at all. He did take a few seasons to pop in the NHL though.

The Swedish kids that play Center are almost always playing Wing on the pro teams at that age. Wouldn't read too much into it. Just makes them versatile.

#3 twice
#4 = 6 times!!!!
Going to take a lot of luck on May 5th to landcat #1or#2...just OEOARE for 4th orc3rd (lesser prizes).

At #3 we probably take Martone because size is a need up front...bu his skatingvdoes nit fit the KD primary attribute ...Of we do not pick Martone then trade it down ...samewith #4trade it down if we land there ...
If KD takes another shrimp (Hagens) ,he would be certified nuts.
