do you see Kyle drafting Desnoyers at 4? at this point it seems trading down to 6 or 7(Philadelphia seems best partner) might get the job done and adding capital.if the Hawks board is Schaefer > Misa > Frondell > Desnoyers (as Powers insinuates)
that wouldn't surprise me, given what they typically like
we know they won't like Martone, I'd wager Hagens' lack of improvement has left them unimpressed, and they'll stay away from McQueen given the injuries
so I think that checks out
furthest Chicago can drop is #4, so we don't even need to speculate further beyond those names
I sure as hell wouldn'tdo you see Kyle drafting Desnoyers at 4? at this point it seems trading down to 6 or 7 might get the job done and adding capital.
he's taking sam dickinson, book it.I sure as hell wouldn't
I don't know what Kyle would do
What would be the point of trading down? We really do not need more draft picks unless they are future 1st rd picks.do you see Kyle drafting Desnoyers at 4? at this point it seems trading down to 6 or 7(Philadelphia seems best partner) might get the job done and adding capital.
agreed. Im just trying to rationalize a way for them to pick Desnoyers if he is their 4th on their board and the previous 3 are taken. What would be the point of trading down? We really do not need more draft picks unless they are future 1st rd picks.
I will say, Frondell and Desnoyers are just role players (middle six upside)
If Schaefer and Misa are off the board when the Hawks pick, and those two are next on their list, they should trade the pick for a young forward talent
Yes if we jump this draft but somehow finish last in the 2026 season we can get McKennaQuestion about the 2026 Draft lottery. If we move up this year (win), but finish dead last next year, can we still get 1st overall? Or does that automatically mean that we would at best have the 2nd overall pick?
if you're betting on them hitting their ceilings, noJust to clarify, you think 2nd line forwards are "role players"?
For what it is worth saw we played at a 72 pt pace post trade deadline this year.
We aren’t finishing last San Jose is still bad Askarov is unproven
Boston is tearing it down
The pens are a year older and worse with Karlson to trade still
All 3 will be worse than us
if you're betting on them hitting their ceilings, no
I'm being more realistic and projecting them as 3rd liners, which count as role players
It's a weak draft year.If they were realistically projected as 3rd liners, they wouldn't be consensus top-6/7 picks. Obviously guys picked that high could end up 3rd liners, but that's not the projection at the moment for either of them.
It's a weak draft year.
You're getting 3rd liners in the top 10.
They're being projected as 2nd liners. You can say that. Neither of those guys are projected to be third liners.
They're being projected as 2nd liners.
I'm saying they could fall short of their projections. It's a common occurrence.
The main point being is why make a pick on a guy who is maybe going to be a 2nd liner? Move the pick for someone who is already a 2nd liner, or someone who could maybe be a 1st liner.

All indications are they aren’t. Which is a big mistake. Because as Hawks fans, we all know once the magic is gone, you don’t get it back.Is Boston tearing it down? With McAvoy back next year they seem more like a retool candidate who is stuck in mediocrity at best.

They’re going to sign a couple crappy overpaid free agents, make a bad trade, and trust their not so good kids, and wonder why they’re mediocre again next year.
Same guy who had Nazar what.. 14th best hawks prospect, had Vlasic as lucky to play games. After he already had shown something at the nhl level. He just has a platform. He isn’t any better than some of the better posters here. If anything he’s much worse.Pronman has Desnoyers as a potential all-star/top of the lineup player. He has Frondell as a top of the lineup player.
Wheeler has Desnoyers and Frondell in the same tier as Martone and Hagens.
So either no one in this draft is going to end up being a 1st line caliber player outside of Misa or your projections for them is way off. I'm going to take the latter here.
