2025 NHL DRAFT Thread

I ran NHL Draft Simulator fromTankathon again just now based on current standings...

Results were:

1.Boston (9th best chance pre'lotto)
2.SJ (best chance pre-lotto)
3..CBJ (11th best chance pre-lotto)9
4.CHI (2nd best chance pre-lotto)..

Does SJ as the place team automatically drop onlyv1 and then other team out of the top 14 -MINUS(n this case Boston and SJ get to be in the 2nd draw for 3rd place ?

This would mean SJ as last place team can only drop 1xspit...but 2nd ladtvokace team can drop 2cspits..
I always was under the impression even the last place teMeam can drop 2 spotscif 2cteams below them pre-lotto both win the 2 lotto fron anywhere upto and including 11th place ore-lotto..

In the Tankathon result No way SJ gets 2nd unless automatically can only drop 1 after 1st lotto..Tgec2ndbkotyo must be forc3rdvpjace not forc2nd as I had always thought was the case..
.cBJ obviously in this Sim won the2nd lotto but only got 3rdvpjace though they are supposed to be able to movevuo 10 spots ..since Boston was #1afyer first draw ot shoukd have meant CBJ could move up to #2..but no ..SJ got it.

The only way SJ got that was ifvthecrukevisxto automatically givec2nd to the last place team after the first draw.

Am I the only one who always thought botb h last and second last teams could drop upto 2 spots 2 teams below 2nd last both could win lotto draws from anywhere upto and including 11th pre-lotto(since a teamcan only move up 10 spots)..

So how coukd CBJ not move upto#2 from 11th ore-lootobifvthey won thec2nd draw?

There has to be a rule last place team can only drop 1 spot..
Was thiscaleayscthecrukevor dodcthey make a change to automatically givevtgevladt place team 2ndvifvthey list the first draw?

... First of all you should already know the lottery rules. Second of all... I already miss fiddytranslator.

In my 3rd try at Tankathon today finally Hawks move up to#1...unfortunately only 2 lotto draws.

I do not think Tankathon has it right anyway..because there are 2 lotto draws...So unless they remove the winner of the first draw forvtgec2nd draw and then publish the total result,it would be a flawed algorithm...
I am notcsure how there determined the final overall results..

Anyway...Given the mess we have gone through this season with the Hawks I cannot depend on luck...I expect the worst...so with the 4th overall pick i the NHL 2025 Entry Frafy Your Chicago Blackhawks ate proud to select_______????

Hint;( our scouts love his size-KD )...on thebother hand if he picks Hagens and says "I cannot believe he fell to us"? Those ne grounds for immediate firing..No more shrimps...
Please!

Don’t wanna win the lotto this year anyhow. Quit wasting your time.
I used to agree with you but I’ve changed my mind recently. I’d be extremely happy with a guaranteed misa or schaefer. f*** next year. I feel like there is clear seperation between those two and the rest this coming entry frafy.

Would I rather be second yes, but if we win the lotto I’ll be happy tbh. Next year I bet we will have about a 5% chance at McKenna.

If we're picking 3 or 4 (the likeliest outcomes), I really think Roger McQueen is someone the Hawks are gonna look at.

A couple games left in the season for Brandon and then playoffs, so we'll see how he ends things but he has looked unaffected from the injury so far.

6'5" 200ft physical center with great hands and skating? It's a nice package. I think he offers more than Hagens, at least in terms of ceiling. And although I like Martone, Davidson won't draft a below average skater so he's off the table.

Assuming Schaefer and Misa are locked in at 1 and 2, I could see McQueen being the guy for Chicago.

No, he doesn't offer more than Hagens XD
McQueen is a big guy with good hands, puck protection, and decent pace at best. Misa and Hagens are in a different category, two players much much much smarter than McQueen.

Found this on the main boards :
"McQueen said it was a pars fracture — less colloquially known as spondylolysis — which is a stress fracture of the spine common in young athletes. It’s usually caused by repetitive stress rather than an acute injury.

“I know everyone is going off a disc thing, but there was no disc problem ever,” McQueen said. “It was just a fractured bone that needed some time to heal, and I guess it takes longer for those ones to heal but it’s good now and everything is cleared up.”

McQueen acknowledged there is a possibility the massive growth spurt he had may have factored into the issue as he grew into his lanky frame.

“There are a lot of question marks about how the fracture came about,” McQueen said. “It’s kind of an odd fracture but it could have been that I’m really tall and grew super fast or it could just be after I was really tall my body hadn’t quite kept up with me and my core wasn’t as strong as it could have been. Honestly we’re not too sure how it came about.”

The healing process included 12 weeks of rest, so he wasn’t allowed to skate or work out at all. For a young hockey player in his draft year, he admitted it wasn’t easy."

McQueen nears return from back injury

McQueen 1G 4A in two games since returning from injury.

If the Hawks pick 4 they're probably going to be left with Hagens and idk about that.
I'd consider Frondell and McQueen.

Also honestly, based on what I've seen of the Hawks this year, they will have time to get their elite forwards.

I don't see how Frondell is in the top 5 conversation

Big guy + back problems =

of the 12 non-central scouting preliminary rankings on this page, only 5 list mcqueen higher than frondell. now i hope the hawks draft him just to piss you off.
Is that surprising? He's been injured practically all year.

He didn't start playing again until recently, and none of those outlets have updated their rankings.

Yeah because updated lists won’t help the prospect who’s had the best second half of the season in the draft (besides Misa).

Once they’ve been updated Frondell probably will be ahead on every single one.
