Draft 2025 NHL Draft Prospects & Undrafted Free Agents

That Aron Kiviharju is one ridiculously well spoken kid. Almost no accent. Best interview I ever saw an 18yo person give. Minnesota Wild prospect.

Can't find anything on Rimpinen ... drafted, or eligible? Should be eligible.

Rimpinen is eligible.

Where did I say they’re thinking anything?

I said every time the Rangers lose, one of these elite young hockey players is one step closer to having the shit misfortune of being drafted by us. A franchise that doesn’t know its ass from its elbow when it comes to player development. A franchise that would be mentioned in the same breath as the Columbus Blue Jackets if it wasn’t located in the heart of New York City.
Very dramatic considering all the success the rangers have had the past 10-12 years

What is Craig hearing that his mock draft has Hagens dropping to #4 after a Strong WJC tourney where his club won Gold?

If you can get past the current injury issues, I could see the arguments for Frondell going within the top-3. I think the 1st and 2nd choices are extremely obvious between Hagens and Schaefer, and then it's however you want to rank Misa or Martone. I think Desnoyers will start getting more love as a potential top-5 pick. He's having one of the best U18 seasons in the Q within the last 25 years.

How is McQueen #5 when he's barely played?

Despite his long absence, Roger McQueen continues to be part of all of our discussions when forming the top of our board. Our team continues to watch and rewatch his early and draft-minus-one season, hoping that he continues to show the same upward trend in his development when he comes back.

“McQueen has been out for a very long time, but when you look at his profile, a 6-foot-5 center who has handling skills, stretches out his stride, and creates offensive advantages for his team. It’s hard to knock him down from that fifth overall slot,” said Daniel Gee, our Head Crossover Scout.

While our team is mostly aligned in our view of the top five in this class, opinions diverge for the rest of our first round. Three prospects stand above the rest at the moment: Jackson Smith, Victor Eklund, and Carter Bear.

Some mid-late 1st rounders i'd be targeting:

Justin Carbonneau
Radim Mrtka
Jake O'Brien
Cameron Reid
Cameron Schmidt
Logan Hensler

(Also PB is currently having a meltdown in the Bob McKenzie rankings thread about Schaefer, the clear 1OA, being ranked there instead of behind Hagens)

I know nyr need c or LD, but if nyr stay in the top 15, what are your thoughts on Spence, and would he still be around in that area?

I’m sure i’ll be in the minority, but honestly, i agree. Maybe what i’d heard about hagens before seeing him created unreasonable expectations, but i haven’t seen a superstar skillset. Dont get me wrong, playing and producing at that level pre-draft is incredible, he’s a great player. I just don’t see the dynamic ability celebrini showed last year. Fantilli was much more impactful. He’s a good skater but not like a hughes. He’s got skill and hockey iq but i haven’t seen any wow factors. I see him closer to a beniers maybe…he definitely is not afraid to do the dirty work and he competes. I just don’t know if he’s a franchise guy, whereas i see that ability in schaeffer. I personally prefer misa’s skillset to hagens - more dynamic skater and think hes higher upside - though i’d probably have both ahead of martone.

It’s sort of unavoidable but i dont like the way ranking these kids comes off as a negative impression of one in elevating another. It’s not about putting hagens down or minimizing the resume he’s put together to date…i personally just think there are a couple kids who look like they have a higher ceiling than he does at the top of the draft.

Just a guess but... Growing up in Denmark for the formative years of your vocal cords may have helped with that. Being around kids speaking Danish, could have led to a more Germanic vocal development rather than Finnish which, as an Uralic language has less in common with English.
