Habs cup - its in the BAG
Prokhorov is cool but just like Lakovic with his 4 PIM. You have to try to never pass the puck to get such low assist numbers in the MHL.
Extreme tunnel vision. He can be a useful player because he’s willing to skate and hit. But he’s not a top half 1st round talent in my mind. Everytime I see him, my first reaction is wow, if this guy is going in the late second round, third or fourth round, this draft is really really strong. Then I see the bushels of players ranked ahead of him, and I think I'm really missing something.Extreme tunnel vision. He can be a useful player because he’s willing to skate and hit. I think this is what they will try to do if they sense the possibilities are closing down. The Hunt for a 2C…and its increasing iffiness, suggests to me Habs should try - their hardest - to move up and get Desnoyers.
Then they conceivably have that 2C on board for the future and can think ‘stop gap’ this summer and avoid a major spend.
Wouldn’t want to part with 16 AND 17, but considering the return and maybe an end to hand-wringing, it might be worth it.
There are other assets/picks available.

I can’t see any teams in the top 8 trading down all the way to 16 & 17. This is not the NFL or NBA.I think this is what they will try to do if they sense the possibilities are closing down.
Get your future 1B C, and then you can justify getting a stopgap through UFA or trade.
Yep, makes sense.I am not convinced they are desperate for a 2nd line center. I am sure they want to try and get one but they also want to see if young Demidov can drive the 2nd line.

I really like Hage and cringe when I see people put him in a package for trade. This is all assuming they don't view Hage as the future 2C. If so, they're probably looking for that stopgap for 1-3 years. My money is on the habs either trading for a top 4 RHD or trading up and drafting someone like Mrtka.
Spence will be long gone by 41.He was sold as a complementary player like Brendan Gallagher that you could throw on the top 2 but when you watch him he's not that. His motor is whatever, doesn't finish his checks as much as he should and just in general is a low ceiling guy while being one of the oldest players in this class.
Doubt he was ever a consideration in round 1, and I wouldn't be shocked if the Habs pass on him at 41 if he's still there, which I believe he will be.

And yes, he was always seen as a first round guy, easily.

Good!Canadiens never interviewed Cole Reschny, Aitcheson or Boumedinne.
The players they didn't interview at the combine tells me they know them well enough and that they focused on those they needed to learn more about.Good!
Btw this means nothing, they interviewed these players numerous times in the last 3 years on the road.
I do not expect the Habs to draft 12 prospect at the draft, some of these are getting traded. Whatever it is to move up or some lateral trade is up in the air though.I always love how unrealistic these draft simulator are.
16 Radim Mrtka
17 Braeden Cootes

81 Max Psenicka

They mock drafted us Bear and Hensler.
I could live with that
Brady is my guy, too. Have been able to watch him live, a lot.If we moved up it should be for Brady Martin, no one else.
If a team uses two 1sts to move up in the draft, I highly doubt it would be a for a winger, as much as I like the player. It would be for a centre or defender. If we moved up it should be for Brady Martin, no one else.
