HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

I’m starting to be more excited about the 41 pick than the 16-17th pick. Big project player is my weakness
Bill Zonnon, Mason West, Ryker Lee, Milton Gastrin, Jack Nesbitt, William Moore, Shane Vansaghi, - there’s a ton of interesting players that could be available there, although some of this group is unlikely to be there at 41.

I think the Habs should trade up to the 28-30 range if there’s someone they really like.

We have a different vision of the player, I saw him get into the middle and use his frame to win pucks quite a few times. He is more Max Pacioretty than Benoit Pouliot, kid is a powerful skater with great hands, easily one of the top transitional players in that draft. Can pass, can shoot, there is alot of upside there. He is my prime traget for a trade up in the 8-12 range, he and Eklund, but I think Ekklund goes higher than the concensus currently have him going.

It's going to be all about the interviews with Lakovic, his challenges are a known quantity out here and I'll leave it at that. Excellent player though and I largely agree w/ your assessment here.

We really need to trade up to 10-12
I really don't think a trade up is in the cards.

I think they will have a trade in place for a player, wait to see how the board falls, and if a guy like Bear, McQueen, Martin or even Carbonneau is available they will keep their pick.

If none of their top 12 players make it to 16, they will trade the picks for immediate impact.

Trading up would only happen if a guy they have in their top 5 slips and they want to seize the opportunity.

There's no one in that range who is a must have. Yeah if Desnoyers or Frondell is there, but they won't be.

Transition to college will be great for some players and painful for others - on the one hand you have a much better development opportunity, older players, tougher league, less games so more focus on off ice training and the gym, girls, social life— but coaches are tougher there, they won’t hand minutes to young players just because they are highly touted, it might break confidence of some young players
