Thanks, I can now focus my viewing in the next month.

Been watching Blake Fiddler today, I like him a lot. Just oozes that he will be a 2nd pairing D in the NHL. He has some generalship in the way he holds himself on the ice.

I can see Fiddler becoming a Derian Hatcher type for our team, with a better shot.

He would fit exactly in the mold of our 2021 blueline which was a huge part of our success.

His skating is pretty smooth for a guy with his size and posture, bust potential is low.

Huuuge respect for targets past the third round. Perso, i have a sweet spot for the mrtka lite in Psenicka. I don’t see him go past third/fourth (or i’ll scream at my tv, like every year for prospects that don’t pan out when all is said and done)

There's a lot of big bodied D and forwards without production or modest production, and tons of flashes. Those are the guys I highlighted, honestly any time after the 3rd round I'd be fine taking Psenicka.

@Goldenhands @montreal What are you guys' thoughts on Fiddler?
Big guy with good mobility, can be physical, relatively safe, but I dont see much upside personally. Offensively average and defensively the reads or processing are sometimes lacking. Thats a kid I skipped quickly though, so maybe @WeThreeKings has more to say since I think he is higher on him than I am.

Blake Fiddler.

Oh, there's been some tantalizing flashes of offensive potential with him. I've seen him walk teams and show poise when finishing the play. He's a big kid, really good skater at that size. Good gap control, good first pass. He has all the modern traits you want in a big frame, he's not a mean player for his size which is unfortunate but he is a Hamrlik-lite style defenseman.

I think he's a sure bet to be a 3rd pair RD who can do PP2 if necessary and PK2 but with the upside to be an exceptional 3/4.

Doubt they'd do that.. not enough time in D'Aigle before you gotta sign him.
They would have the NCAA option now to give him more time.

If the Habs really like Ravensbergen, I wonder if they could possibly take him at 16 or 17. By all accounts, it's a weak draft for skaters. Also I think there's a better than 50% chance we're back in the lottery next year. A lot went right this year for us to make the playoffs. If Suzuki ever misses time, our playoff chances are f***ed!

I highly doubt Habs draft a goalie at 16 or 17 OV even in a weak draft, we have too many great goaltenders in the pipeline already, Volokhin being the wildcard.

As for next season, it all depends if Habs can grab that 2C or not and who that 2C is. If its Horvat, we are closer to the playoffs than a bottom finish. Summer will be very interesting...

Great might be a stretch. We certainly have some promising goalies but not sure we have a blue chipper sure thing. Ravensbergen intrigues me with that pedigree, size and athleticism but 16-17 might indeed be too early.

I dont think our goalie pipeline is that great but I dont like spending a first rounder on goalie perso.

Dobes, Volokhin, Fowler in what order you want is a fantastic pipeline, but thats my own opinion...

I'm only saying if there was ever a year to do it...
- Habs have two mid 1st round picks
- weak draft for skaters by all accounts
- Ravensbergen is the first goalie in a few years to be ranked in the 1st round on almost all lists

We're already talking about taking a good role player with the 16-17 picks who might not be top 6 F material or top 4 D material. If Habs scouts think Ravensbergen could be a star, they would have to consider him. He plays a pretty important position.
