Since when Carbonneau is hard to coach ?It’s not just lazy, it’s uninformed. In what world do Hughes and Gorton seem like the types to acquire players that are difficult to coach?
In fact, it reminds me of being consistently linked to another Blainville player that is talented but doesn’t fit anywhere because he’s moody, PLD.
Since he clearly doesn’t listen to his coaches. He never makes the simple play and he thinks he can deke around everyone and be a one-man show.Since when Carbonneau is hard to coach ?
Never heard anything about him being a bad player to coach thoughSince he clearly doesn’t listen to his coaches. He never makes the simple play and he thinks he can deke around everyone and be a one-man show.
Ivar Stenberg is a projected top 3 pick in 2026. I wouldnt be surprised to see him challenge McKenna for 1st OV. He is a better skater than McKenna and a better rounded player at that point. He would be killing it in the CHL as well.I'm very curious to see how will this and next year's Swedish prospects pan out in a few years, as it's really one of the best age classes ever in Swedish hockey despite what seems like a lack of a total gem at the top. I'd definitely want to target a lot of the Swedes after the first round, with Filip Ekberg, Ivar Stenberg and Theodor Hallquisth all being especially interesting and seemingly undervalued to me
Desnoyers, Frondell, Eklund, Mrtka, Bear, Martin are all players I would look to trade up for.I, along with many others, didn't expect that Caufield dropped to 15th, nor Hutson dropped to late 2nd round, nor Demidov at 5th.
In the coming draft, who you wish to be dropped to 16th, à la Caufield and Hutson ? Try to be realistic, so no Misha or Hagens.
Which player is worth to exchange our 16th and 17th picks to move up to grab that player, maybe around 10th ? Desnoyers ?
Lakovic or Bear seem like possibilities based on different rankings and I think both are top 10 in this class.I, along with many others, didn't expect that Caufield dropped to 15th, nor Hutson dropped to late 2nd round, nor Demidov at 5th.

Best list of Button in ages. At least from my perspective. Glad to see him recognize Reschny talent. Only true disagrements I have is with his ranking of Bear and Hensler, both should he higher. And Schmidt should be way lower.![]()
Craig's List: Lots of prospects down the middle ahead of NHL Draft | TSN
TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button has 13 centres in the top 32 of his latest Craig's List draft prospect ranking and shines the spotlight on Brady Martin, Cole Reschny and Braeden Cootes.www.tsn.ca
Drafting for need that early in the draft is a big mistake.Every Q player is automatically assigned to us. Carbonneau is late birthday in weak league. He's over rated. Going to be a mistake. Habs really need a center.
Easier said than doneTarget UFA's this off season to fill the 2C and RD role.
Keep 16 and 17 to add to our prospect pool.
Hage
Beck
Fowler
16 (Martin)
17 (Mrtka)
Mailloux
Those guys are just my want.Easier said than done
Also, I'd say there's less than 1% chance that either Mrtka and Martin are available, both? 1/1000
Yea I get it, we'd need to have picks closer to 8 and 9 to make that wish reality which is still no longer a sure thing eitherThose guys are just my want.
Yeah, it is getting pretty irritating to read this thread and attempt to get info on players that will likely come out in the 8-20 range just for some other poster to instantly reply the classic "he won't be available".While I'm not a big fan of this draft class, I am stoked for it to get here, with the cap going up so much and with having 7 picks in the 1st 3 rounds, plus this draft looks like it's going to be wide open as I have heard 20-30 names that people swear are going top 10-15 so this draft could be wild. Perhaps we see a lot of moves plus I wonder if several teams are going to try and tank for McKenna or try and improve their roster as there are so many shit teams in the NHL these days it's going to be interesting to see how they handle this.
There is almost zero chances Mrtka drop top out of the top 15 and even less for Brady Martin. Both project very well to NHL and are hot commodities. Top 6 physical center & top 4 right handed defenseman. Both could even be surprise pick in the top 8.If Mrtka is available at our pick, I'll eat my hat. He's a mobile, big, right-handed defenseman who put up points immediately after moving to North American juniors.
I bet he's gone by 10

Can we just let people share why they like such and such player? What if HuGo trade up a week before the draft like they did last year (Hage) and the circumstances change?
